Chloe Paddington Bags (February 2005 - March 2010)

Attached are pics of my two whiskey bags. The first is smooth; second is pebbled. I am having a lot of trouble uploading photos tonight so more to follow. It's really hard to tell because the larger pictures won't load - I keep getting page not displayed error.

Oh I can tell on the back shots, roey. That's really interesting to see the variation. I just thought they were all pebbled.

I agree with the other girls.....stick to one paddington. Guess is right.....regardless of the color, condition the bag. I just did all of mine and I think it's going to make a big difference as far as wear and tear.

I'm still not sure what I'm going to do, but I'm thinking about buying Chanel bag in Red, bring it home, and try to work it with my clothes.....so I can see if Chanel works for me or not. I know Blanc Paddy works great for everything pretty much for me(I'm super casual kind of girl).

I know, I'm certifiable! But my purpose was to score a better lock on the second bag, which didn't happen. The front is perfect, but the back has more scratches than the front of my original bag/lock. I'd rather have a few very small markings on the front of one lock than a few longer scratches on the back of another.

The smoother one is going back to Bergdorf. You can tell the pebbly one is slouchier in the photos; the leather is softer too. The smoother one is a little bit stiffer in comparison. It is still a pretty bag though.

If I don't like the blanc when it arrives on Friday and return it, my Nordstrom card will be clear. YAY! I am hoping I find it won't be a useful color, but I have to see it IRL. I am the type of person who will FREAK if even a dot of dirt makes its way onto the bag. I have a habit of splashing coffee on my bags when walking to and from the cafeteria at work, and always make sure to carry my Paddingtons on the opposite arm to avoid mishaps.

There is no other Paddington color I want right now fortunately. Thank goodness for that; I don't need quintuplets!!

You need a good SA at Neimans to track down a blue for you. I think most stores got their shipments last week or so and the blue went fast. However, the Nordstrom stores that carry chloe are still waiting (I think) for their shipments so you can call around and ask to reserve one - by giving them your credit card # you can probably get a bag.

Thanks cougess - your insight was right on track! I went to Nordies today, and they hadn't even ordered them yet, but my Neiman's had 1 left on the floor!!! Yay! I got it - I think I was darn lucky, huh? Since today was the first day they had items on for last call pre-sale, there were a lot of people in the store and someone was standing right behind me to buy the blue Paddy if I didn't. The color is gorgeous - hope I'm going to like the rest of the bag as much as I do the color

btw i should clarify - i did this in a private sale (not from a store) and it worked! no taxes!

I chickened out about lying on the customs form so I insured and valued the bag at $1200 as per buyer's instructions. Oh well...

Here they are side by side. Notice how the pebbled bag on the left is slightly larger, or at least appears that way.

Yeah! Perfect timing - I'm glad it worked out perfectly for you. The blue is great - and its harder to get than the other colors. I was at Neimans today and they had one brown one left on the floor. The SA said they had sold about 8 in one week. I also saw the new style silverado tote in python - $2700 and the strap is too short to put on your shoulder, plus the bag is not very attractive. If the paddington is on the way out, the silverado is on life-support now.

yup! everything went smoothly.. no probs with delivery too. plus fortunately, i didn't get to experience the padlock scratches or any marks on the bag or mobile pockets being sewn upside down

Mademoiselle - That looks pebbly to me. But odd, your blanc looks much more whiter than the one that I got. Mine looks more yellowish. Maybe it's the lighting in here....

I just spent several minutes with both of them in the mirror, and it's really a tough call. I should probably stick with the pebbled one. The smoother one has a thicker lining, and it is heavier. There is a clear difference in weight. But I like how the sides of the smooth bag really stay out due to the thickness of the leather.

There is a clear difference in weight. But I like how the sides of the smooth bag really stay out due to the thickness of the leather.

I'd keep the pebbled. What makes the paddington so unbelievable to me is how collapse-able it is, it just melts on your arm.
