the colour's more grey than blue IRL.. the flash made it baby blue i was worried that it wouldn't match my wardrobe but, i manage to buy more clothes to match it.. hehee

chloe tan paddington

hi everyone,
I just received my tan paddington from neimanmarcus.com.

it really is such an adorable handbag, unfortunately this impulse purchase is too expensive for me.

I'm going to return this bag, but before I send it back, I wanted to see if anyone is interested in purchasing it since I know it can be hard to get a hold of one of these. This bag was just received by mail and I haven't used it at all. the tags are still attached and it's been kept in its duster bag. there are no defects of any kind. I'm only getting rid of it because it's too pricey for me. If no one is interested, I will be returning it back to neiman marcus.

i paid a little over $1500 (includes CA tax and shipping cost). i have a copy of the invoice and pictures if anyone wants to see first. if interested, please message me. thanks!

Since i'm fairly new to this thread, forgive me if i'm asking a redundant question but can anyone tell me why the tan paddy is cheaper than the whiskey? BG is listing it for $1380 vs $1500. I'm guessing last season's??? TIA!

Jellylicious, yup, $1380 was the price for the tan paddy in F/W 05, so that must be a returned paddy.

Jstar - I would definitely keep the bag, the handles are different textures but after use they'll blend together in texture I am sure.

Style101 --that's exactly why I'm keeping the zippy, much more interesting than the tote. I was up all night studying the tote from every angle possible and it's just "blah" to me now.

Green - it would definitely be great for travel. The bottom part is perfect for folding tops or a wrap for the flight if you get cold. It's very roomy.

Guessgirl -- I this color Blanc. Something about the color and all the gold-ish/brass accents on it make it sparkle. It's a very elegant color, just love it. I want another one now, maybe a paddy but I need to get a *grip* here, I already have the paddy in whiskey. It's okay to do with clothes, when I find a top or something I like I buy it in every color, but hello! I can't do that with these expensive bags.

Ok, my whiskey Paddington showed up today from NM - it is gorgeous, I love the color, love the bag (it goes perfectly with the boots I'm wearing today), the hardware looks perfect, but wait . . .

where's the key?!

No key! I've looked in all the pockets, checked and double checked the box, no key.

I just got off the phone with NM customer service, luckily they had one whiskey Paddington left, so the customer service agent ordered it for me, and then she was nice enough to issue me a temporary credit on my NM card so that I can hold on to bag #1 until #2 arrives to make sure that the second bag is as nice (she said if I wanted to, I could switch out the locks and keep the 1st bag with the new lock and key).

Ok, so back in the box goes the beautiful, but keyless Paddington and I have to wait a few more days for the next one.

Such drama for a Friday! I had hoped to carry the bag this weekend, but I will have to wait a bit longer.

I'll bet the bag was a return and someone stole the key (because theirs was scratched or something). neiman's should inspect the merchandise a little more (though as a practical matter, how can the people who process all the online returns be expected to be intimately familiar with every single piece of merchandise available), but the real culprit is the people who abuse the system.

Regarding the key, does the same key work in all the locks? So that, if I like the 1st bag better, I can just take the key from bag #2 and return that one?

Or do the key and lock go together?

Anyone know the answer?

Well, in theory they are, but check just to make sure. Some of my keys do not work in all the locks (even in the same color, season, etc.) I'm sure they're supposed to, but some are just a hair longer or wider and don't fit or open a different lock properly.

I got an email this AM from net-a-porter stating that the anthracite paddy wallet I had wish-listed would be available next week.

I thought I would give a heads-up to everyone to be checking NAP next week as it would appear that they will have new Chloe.

I will be getting the wallet next week and will post a picture

I don't know yet - I will definitely tell you all when they send me the email telling me that it has been added to my special order account.

I know I am excited to see it - I hope it is not too much more than the other paddy wallets.

Funny you mentioned this because when I was searching for the Noir, I almost had one shipped from San Francisco when the sharp s/a noticed the key was missing. After that phone conversation, I made sure to ask the s/a who finally found me a bag to check for the key before shipping it out.

On the subject of locks and keys, a second Noir arrived today (long story), and that key fit both Noir bags. Because the second Noir was of the softer, slouchier, more textured leather and had a perfect key, I sent the first Noir back to NM (with the chipped key and stiffer, less textured leather). Both Noirs have scratches on the back of the locks, though the front is perfect on both bags. I am tired of trying to find the perfect lock - it doesn't exist! I thought my tan lock was perfection, and then it started peeling...

I just realized my tan mini doesn't have ykk on teh zipper, and doesn't have any serial number on it either. This is okay right? I shouldn't worry about it being a fake right? (*paranoid!*) I had it shipped over from the chloe store in bahrain.
