Somewhere WWAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY back in this thread, the topic of the zipper being marked "YKK" came up. I think it was decided that it was irrelevant on the authenticity of the bag - - as some bags had it and some didn't and the bags were authentic, purchased from reputable places. I think since it's just a zipper (that isn't actually manufactured by Chloe), it reallly doesn't deem the bag authentic or not.

Thanks so much for the reply. Yeah you're right, I know I shouldn't get too hung up on the Ykk..I've read all the opinions on the ykk issue...Actually at this point, I'm a little more worried about the serial number missing in the inside pocket...

I just received a Whiskey Paddy from BG and the zippers do not have YKK on them, but I do have a 10 digit serial number on the inside pocket.

FedEx woes! They didnt even knock! Just left the doortag I checked tracking and it says customer not home! whaaaat. Called up fedex, told them to get their butts back here So now I have to wait till 2pm.

Ok, so I wasnt awake at 8am when they tried to deliver but the delivery people drive my dogs nuts when they bang at the door so I would have gotten up

oh I know, I thought they had delivered to the wrong address as the town is WAAY off on the tracking so I called Fedex before I had found the doortag. First the lady said she didnt see delivery attempted, then she saw the doortag left. I told her I didnt see a doortag! (It was actually outside) so I didnt see the blurb stating I could pick it up later today. So she put in a request for redelivery. Then a fedex rep called me and said to expect the driver around 2. Whew. Now I'm afraid to leave my house even for a few minutes. Fedex NEVER gets here early, wtf was up with today

I'm this close to buying the wallet to cheer me up.

This has happened to me as well (UPS "incident"). No knock, bell, anything...just a door tag. UGH! Hope your bag is fabulous and your wait is worth it!

My friend who order the anthracite was suppose to receive the bag today, but now its detained at custom because of missing paperwork????
She is on pins and needle after I told her that her anthracite might be metallic and not the Noir she was hoping for.

Your friend is in luck, alas I am not I dont know if it is Noir though as the tag says Anthracite But it sure looks like noir. What a flub. This puppy is going back.

OH CRAP! That's NOT cool at all. I hope you wrote down the name of the person that told you that it was anthracite. I hope they will reimburse your shipping in some way. Sorry to hear the bad news

yeah, it sucks. But the tag says anthracite, cant really fault the SA if theyve never seen the bag or know what it really should look like. Has anyone returned anything to LVR. Gah, what a pain. Even the pre printed FedEx label is wrong..it has MY address on it, not LVRs

I have the anthracite bag with silver hardware from NAP, it is wrong for a company to use the same word for color on what are clearly different color bags.

My tag says the following on the back of the round Chloe tag:
Upper corners: 06S TU
Long row of #'s: 6SSA02-6S403
Then: Handbag
Then: 086
Then: Anthracite

Well to me that says that the E and the S indicate different seasons of the bag and the color anthracite has changed with the changing seasons.

Goodness, that is so ludicrous for a company to use the same color for two different colors.

I am very sorry that you did not get what you were hoping for; I truly hope you can return it without a problem. You might have to bite the charges and call them to get this resolved quickly. Please keep us posted.

Mine came with a slip on cover for the padlock - it was a sort of foamy plastic. Is that what people mean, or is there an uber posh leather one out there somewhere? I'm paranoid about whacking my padlock on something and chipping the coating after reading the problems everyone else has had with theirs!

Mine's a six digit Paddy, very soft grainy leather. What season is it probably from, as I keep reading about the 06 ones being stiffer leather and having 10 digits?

I know the SA was only reading what the tag saids, BUT they really should spend alittle more time and research the products they sell. It takes only 2 seconds to do a search online to see that anthra should be metallic. Better yet they should have question Chloe directly.
Hopefully you are able to return the bag drama free

dangerous padlocks!

So I am dying from being sick....go to the doctors office, get out of my car, have child in arms, hobo in the other and of course I decide to swing my hobo onto my other arm as I am walking through the doors (glass) and I totally cracked the glass in the main door to my doctors office ! The padlock must have flipped over as I swung it over my shoulder. I was soooooo embarrased. The sound was so loud!!

You guys, just a forewarning, never do what I just did. Of course I played stupid as to how it could have possibly happened, but still, I feel terrible.

Becareful walking through those glass doors w/paddys in hand!

Yes, the foamy plastic is what my Bowler lock had for protection.

It was me who posted the theory about the 10 digit bags having stiffer leather because that was my own personal experience. However, a friend of mine who has seen more Paddingtons than I have IRL and is just as detail-oriented, noted that some 10 digit bags are soft and slouchy and pebbly. Her theory, which is probably more truth, is that in order to keep up with the demand for bags, Chloe is using a couple of different factories for production, hence the differences.
