I believe that Zippy on LVR is supposed to be Mousse and they got the hardware wrong. On that site (as well as on MJ, etc), they photograph the same bag but photoshop the color on. If you look closely at each color in the same style, they are in the exact same position with consistent details. So the color representations on LVR are probably off. Anyway, I believe they "painted" on the Mousse color but didn't change the lock to silver.

I am glad that you finally got it - and I am glad you decided to just exchange the noir - the mousse pics that roz has on Ebay look real nice. I am excited to see that color IRL. I am sucker for anything with silver hardware.


WOW Daisy - great eye - i can't believe I never caught that. You are so right, they even colored the handle hardware on their "mousse" bag. Well, that explains why their photos always look off.

here's the pic.. the part where i squish it, see i can squish all the way thru n the stuffings inside it has somehow gone.. not sure what the handle is stuffed with... i haven;t taken a clear pic of the very distressed leather where the lock piece of leather is attached (hmm.. if u zoon u can see the very distressed leather on the corner is that normal?) but that's not what concern me rite now.. it's the handle.. i'm not sure if it'll break off??

bag is 4-5 mths old bought fr LVR. i'm putting it under ICU n it's resting in it's dustbag...

Chic_chick -- I noticed this immediately w/the red hobo I ordered and then returned (it has been around the block one too many times) and my whiskey hobo is beginning to show the same signs. I think its the leather stretching out. My blanc satchel doesn't have this yet, but I'm sure after a while it will.

By the way you guys, I am just in love with this color on the satchel. I'll have to post pictures. My whiskey is arriving on Monday and who knows when my blanc hobo will ever get here.

The SA charged me for the hobo and I still don't have it. She's having it shipping from one NM to hers. Don't ask me why she couldn't have it sent directly to me from that particular NM. Maybe they don't allow it, who knows. They keep telling me, "anyday now!" Hmph.

I just hope I don't like it b/c I can't afford to keep both the blanc satchel and the blanc hobo. I have to choose.

The Verdict

Ok, the verdict is in!!! The satchel looks better on me than the hobo. The hobo doesn't seem to sit right on me for some reasons. Right now I'm still debating whether I should exchange the satchel as I'm concerned with the flaking on the handle ... Is that going to get worse over time?

Mammab, your blanc satchel is fabulous!! Now I want to get one in white too! Btw, does white appear bigger because of its color (optical illusion)? I love my anthracite satchel but I do find it to look a bit big on me. I'm one of those ppl that looks like I've aged 10 years when I carry a bigger bag.

koukanamiya -- Maybe it looks a little bit bigger but not 100% sure. Will have to compare it side by side when my whiskey arrives.

chic_chick -- I honestly don't think the leather would ever split, unless your carrying around a bowling ball inside the bag.

Mammab, I've said it before but I'll say it again Your blanc satchel looks sooooooo amazing!! I really want a blanc one now but I'm afraid to get it dirty. I freak out if I get a scratch or stain on anything I love (imagine how mad I was when my car got keyed). Have you started using it yet?

Btw, I tend to like more structured bags so I'm thinking of putting a piece of paper cardboard at the bottom of my satchel (if I decide not to exchange it) so the bottom part won't slouch like the Speedy 30. Do you think that would hurt the purse in the long run? I mean, it's not a big cardboard, just enough to give the base a flat look when I put things inside the bag. Also, do you think I should exchange my satchel because of the crack on the handle? I'm afraid it'll get worse ...

this one is right out of the box -- notice the wrapped lock, BUT there were still scratches on it. I honestly don't care about it though the leather makes up for the lock. It also isn't "that" bad.

Very pretty mammab! I'm digging your house too, from what I can see of it in the photos. I, on the other hand, live in squalor, surrounded by expensive handbags! Might start setting up house in the Gucci bag soon...

I'll take a stab at this one. My 06 Whiskey and Noir have the pebbly soft leather but it is very different from my 05 tan and chocolate. It is thinner and not as luxe feeling, but still nice leather. While the leather consistency in 05 was pretty true, in 06 there seems to be a mix of stiff/smooth and soft/pebbly, so finding that perfect bag is more difficult.

I will be buying my 1st Chloe paddington bag but I am not sure whether I should get the classic two handle satchel or the medium ($1345) size hobo in ivory color? What are your takes and opinions?
