Chloe Paddington Bags (February 2005 - March 2010)

Hi everyone,

I will be buying my 1st Chloe paddington bag but I am not sure whether I should get the classic two handle satchel or the medium ($1345) size hobo in ivory color? What are your takes and opinions?

satchel. the hobo is okay but i think the paddington style works better with the satchel and the satchel is just a nicer looking bag. one thing i don't like about the hobo is if the lock sits inside the bag it gives it a squashed look.

Can someone please post a close-up of the silver lock? I heard about the locks being scratched and when I looked at mine, the hardware looks "spotted", kind of like how hardware looks if you have accidentally sprayed Scotchgard on it and forgot to wipe it off in time. TIA.

mammab, thanks for the pics! they're lovely, as always. that is the current white, correct? because i handled one and did not like the leather at all -- it was stiff and not yummy like the last white. yours doesn't look stiff but if it's this season, i can't imagine they made bags in different leathers -- or did they?

I am assuming its the leather from this season?? The tag reads "blanc" Was Craie a more of darker color and was the color "craie" typed on the tag for color or is Blanc just a general term for color? I'm going to have to compare it to my blanc hobo from this season which is upstairs in its bag. Will get back.

I remember seeing a white satchel at my local nordstroms here and I wasn't impressed w/it at all. It looked very "flat" and "matte" and no pebbly grain to it. Also my blanc hobo upstairs has that same kinda "blah" feel to it -- no pebble action happening on it and just very dull looking.

This one is definitely soft and squish-able and well, I hope I captured all that in the photos because I think I got really lucky

the white from last season was called craie and it was more ivory than the current white. and the leather was like the leather on the wine hobo you returned. it's interesting that the leather from this season varies so much. i truly hated the one i saw -- it wasn't soft at all. lucky you!

i've seen that on the bronze locks and hardware. it must be that the matte coating was not applied evenly.

Anyways, I couldn't be more pleased. After the experience w/my blanc hobo -- this is like a breath of fresh air. The leather is super pebbly and soft and slouchy and the lock came nicely wrapped. Its a definite keeper. I am so happy to know that decent Blanc Paddys do infact exist out there!!

I used my black pocket paddy last night...love it! OMG, the fedex guy delivered a package today...

OK.. getting really worried about LVR bags now!!

I just spotted the blue-ish Paddy bouling on LVR. Does anyone have any other photos of this, and what colour it is?

I have a medium black bouler in my possession right now...pics to come (BTW, I saw the mousse/dove blue/grey color yesterday, it it nice.)

SoCal, how would you describe jaune? is it mustardy yellow? is the one on LVR close to the real color?

The yellow is nice...it is not mustard yellow...it is a warm, pale yellow.

SoCal - how big was the large in comparison to your zippys? Did you get to see if its very heavy? I love the color but am concerned about the size

I liked the large...it is much more "square" in terms of proportion than the zippys. The medium is a great day bag, the large is a good work or weekend bag. Both sizes can be worn on the arm or shoulder (I had a light jacket on).

Oh no way! I love my anthra. I'm exchanging the Noir for Mousse from LVR.
And in case anyone is wondering, it costs $120 to ship the bag back to Italy

Kouk: My silver hardware looks the same and so has the silver hardware on all of the bags I've seen. I think its supposed to be that way, more antiqued looking. I like it, I don't like really shiny hardware.

Okay, now for pics...first the zippy bouler bags...

Interesting...both bags are black/noir. The medium is from Henri Bendel and the large is from NM (note how much more gray the large is...). Both bags can be worn on the arm or shoulder.

Next, the medium black pocket paddy. Again, can be worn on either arm or shoulder... The bouler is more structured; the pocket paddy is super slouchy... (BTW, this is noir also...the only noir that is more grey is the large zippy from NM...)

Yes, tags all say noir... I asked the Chloe SA about this yesterday... She said are you sure the large is not the matte anthracite...I said, the tag says noir...

BTW, saw the three summer colors at Chloe SCP yesterday. The taupe is lighter than tan...a very pretty, light tan, super neutral color. The yellow/jaune is also a light, pretty yellow. And the mousse is the dove grey/blue pictured earlier.

A different view than the one up a few posts (medium noir is held on bottom left, large is on bottom right). Just let me know...guest is still out and it is pouring rain outside...I won't be going anywhere for a little while...

Dear SoCal,you are my star. I just called Henri Bendel right after seeing your post. Unfortunately they sold out the whiskey and choclate and only have one ivory shop tote left. I took it! I did!. Ohh hoo...thanks sweetie for the tip!
