Although I must say it sounds made up, Kate is kinda bitchy towards some actresses, but she referes to Anne affectionatly as "Annie". Also it seems a little convienient that their blind item would be about dye jobs at salon because of that infamous scene in the movie where Anne gets Kate's hair dyed blue...Sounds like they're trying to make a scene reel life seem like real life.

I don't think it's Taylor simply becuase that's too easy. I've never thought of Taylor as innocent, her character Jenny was in the first season of GG but not Taylor herself. Also I don't think she needs to be hiding her habit, her mom seems very supportive of her daughter's actions, she's with her most of the time. Can't imagine she's doing it behind her parents back. Also I thought it was the disney girls because they are more innocent, plus they get paid BIG bucks, and they probably still live at home because they're all so young. They'd want to hide it more I think.

Many blogs are becoming part of the mainstream media these days though.

And as that happens, they become more constrained in much the same way as mainstream media is - in what they can report in terms of libel laws - and an individual won't have the legal might behind them that a news organisation can call on to combat any battles, so any action might have a more ruinous effect on the blogger, and therefore they may self-censor to avoid that.

And at the smaller, more unofficial levels, I would reckon that innumerable bloggers would be susceptible to influences behind-the-scenes regarding their output, ranging from bribes to appeals to personal bias. They're not working for a broadcaster with a "public duty" or a company where an independent commission keeps tabs on the services provided. So if a PR person wants a story promoted or hushed, the way is wide open for them to still wield their influence, but in sneakily modern ways. Same old job, but updated ways of delivering it.

So for me, the idea that blogs will be outing the truth on a large (or dependable) scale is optimistic.

The only blog that has the insider sources and the means to do so (and is already doing it) is Panache Report, arguably the most powerful gossip blog on the net (in my opinion).
However, reading it always makes me depressed: their blinds are so seedy and sleazy (when they are not downright horrifying) that I loose faith in mankind every time I surf though it.

The only blog that has the insider sources and the means to do so (and is already doing it) is Panache Report, arguably the most powerful gossip blog on the net (in my opinion).

Panache Report? Never heard of it till now. Will be interesting to check out.

The only gossip blog I trust 10% up to now is Lainey Gossip. But I still take everything she writes with 10 lbs of salt.

Very few do it, for obvious legal reasons.
Ent Lawyer does reveals a couple of time a year. Panache report never does reveals but the answer to the blinds is pretty much figured out by posters on the comment section.

Re: Panache Report, the most likely reason it's not mainstream famous is because it's a Black blog and there are relatively few mainstream Black celebrities (myself, as a French living in Europe, I don't know who 2/3 of the people mentioned there are). The blinds center on rappers, sports stars, singers, actors, but the best part are the comments, where member often talk about mainstream celebrities and drop very interesting information. Also, if you go there I have to warn you the front page is super tacky...

I personally think blind items are fun but not very credible. Lainey and Panache are the only one that I really trust.

I read some of those articles on Panache Report, too. What horrified me about those stories is not how disturbing they were but that I wasn't shocked by them. Just goes to show how desensitized to violence I have become. That is what made me loose faith in mankind for a moment..

Hunky, serious actor was shot by the paps the other day dragging on a ciggie after getting off a plane. But his wife doesn’t know.

So he asked them, pleaded with them – please, can we try it again? Let me just finish, then I’ll go back to where started, and I’ll walk back this way again, and you can reshoot these photos without me smoking? Otherwise the Mrs will kill me.

This is blind for obvious reasons. Don’t want to put him in the sh-thouse when he gets home but also a great example of how they work with them, the paparazzi, they all work with them every day. They negotiate, they choreograph, they rehearse, and they reshoot. It’s part of the job. Don’t believe them when they complain.
