Lindsay Lohan's Hollywood Hills home has been burglarized, the actress' manager-mom Dina, has confirmed to PEOPLE.

"It's true," Dina tells PEOPLE of the TMZ report Lindsay arrived home early this morning to discover that her home appeared to have been burglarized. "The safe was ripped out of the wall, and the door was off the hinges and door handles removed," Dina says. "Bags, shoes and jewelry were taken too. Thank God she wasn't home."

And Dina adds, Lindsay was planning to move, even before it occurred: "Ali and Linds just left me in New York, and left people in charge to pack, as we are moving her to a safer place."

As for Lindsay's frame of mind post break-in, Dina tells PEOPLE, "She is okay, but upset." She adds that before arriving home, Lindsay – currently working on the 2010 crime thriller Machete, costarring Robert DeNiro and Jessica Alba – attended a birthday celebration in Malibu for a family friend.

Meanwhile, LAPD tells PEOPLE, "All we can confirm is that we are investigating a possible break in at the residence and we still have officers on the scene. We got a call shortly before 7 a.m. this morning and it's still under investigation. No arrests have been made." In May, police were also called to the actress' home after a surveillance video showed what looked like an attempted break-in.

Michael Lohan tells TMZ a safe was ripped off the wall and a couple of watches were taken. He believes it's "an inside job" because the people that work for Lindsay failed to turn the alarm on. He says, "I am not going to put up with individuals violating my family. Lindsay is a charitable, generous person that always gives. This is a personal violation and it has got to stop."

We're told Lindsay came home early this morning, around 3:00 AM, discovered the break-in and called her dad.

^He inserts himself into her life all the time and comments about her without knowing about what she does(or knows only based on tabloid stuff) I think she needs guidance and a strong parental unit and real friends but everytime I hear her Dad say something knowing/reading about how much she just wants him to shut up I find myself on team Linds 100%. If he really cared he'd do what Britney's Dad did. IMO he needs to put up or shut up.

If I read the info right, he got a court to have a temporary conservatorship over her. Basically treating her like a minor. If she wants to buy something (like whatever the hell she was smoking during the period of time) she had to get his permission and he lived with her,traveled with her, decided who was around her. He got a restraining order against the Sam Lufti guy who was her "manager" (which I think is code for drug dealer) Just getting her back on track especially after her second 5150. I don't think Michael Lohan is the best Dad to have do that but Linds needs someone to tell her no and to get her act together. And I just realized I know way too much about Britney Spears.

X17online broke the news that LAPD returned to Lindsay Lohan's [FONT=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]Hollywood home[/FONT] this afternoon in an effort to obtain more information on her recent robbery, and it looks like they're taking the matter very seriously.
Though [FONT=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]the police[/FONT] declined to [FONT=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]comment on[/FONT] the incident, they stayed behind when Lindsay and little sis Ali left to go [FONT=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]shopping in West Hollywood[/FONT]. While it looks like the scary incident has brought the family closer together, it's also put Linds in an understandably sour mood...awww, cheer up girl! You'll get your jewels back in no time!

It’s like energy. You give it off. You invite. Drama. Lindsay Lohan craves drama. She cannot live without drama. So drama will always find her.

So her house was broken into again. Second time in 4 months. Her first phone call?

After he notified the cops, Michael Lohan released a statement to the press.
