Lanvin for H&M (Update....Second Collection?)

UUGG After waiting out in the snow like a fool to be 3rd in line I only got out with a pair of navy pants and red bow tie.

In Vancouver people were filling bags and hoarding everything for trade, I had zero sleep so I was in no mood to try and negotiate to get a blazer or sunglasses.

I found the men's to be very light on product and could have been better organized.

I'm so clod…

omg yesterday i passed by h&m in mtl, there was already a small lineup at midnight.

The Atlanta one wasn't too bad. Of course more chaos in the women than men. They gave out these cute Lanvin HM cloth bags with scarves for people in line. Eventhough I had a wristband, I still felt rushed because people were just grabbing things. I can't attest to the quality of the women but some people in line didn't understand why the hems were unfinished lol.

Ugh I know... that's when I decided I wouldn't go. The Gazette reported this morning that there were still a few items left, but I'm already turned off by all of this.

There probably won't be much re-stocking, but people will return a lot. Even those Ebay-hoarders will have to return if people don't buy their stuff at 10x the retail price.

Sorry, but I meant fakes, like the ones you find in Ioffer and so. I meant they look so bad quality they actually look like a rip off of a real Lanvin to me. And overpriced, btw.

HERE IS MY TAKE:

i can't believe there was a stabbing, but most likely it happened at 51st street which I promptly avoided. EDIT: That was a hoax! NEVER happened.

i was at 34th street. first in line ( i have an office near by so i would periodically check the "status" of the line at H&M) . shopping experience was well controlled, i mean, I was in the first group and they escorted us to the shopping area. i already knew what i wanted ( the purple one shoulder dress, poufy skirt, sunglasses, gloves and necklace) so i went for those first. while they looked for another size for me, i grabbed a couple dresses to try them on.

the quality of the dresses were actually great, above H&M quality. the shoes, well, i wasn't too impressed with those, but people were snatching them up. i also went to get the fur vest but what disappointed that it wasn't a solid black one. but the quality of the faux fur was amazing, very soft!

as far as the sizing were concerned, i felt it was true to size, if not cut alittle narrower as the silhouettes were pretty voluminous with all the poufs and ruffles.

that tulle dress was huge, reminded me of Carrie Bradshaw in Sex in the City..super girly.

Everybody was going for that yellow dress, wow it was an eye popping color, if you're into yellow, that is the dress to get.

The blazer was amazing too, i didn't get it because I have enough blazers and the jeweled buttons were really beautiful.

also what's nice is that for every dres you get, you receive this amazing printed garment bag for it.

the packaging was the best i've seen coming from these collections, beautiful and very sturdy, thick boxes. They didn't miss any details on the packaging.

The most brutal part was the wait.

Ladies,

I just got back from the West Hollywood location. I was in the 5th group. Make sure you know what you want. Though the staff replenished the pieces for every group, certain items were immediately out of stock, specifically the skirt and sheer blouse to my dismay. The 2-6 sizes ran out pretty fast. Size down as the collection is a size bigger than h&m. The quality of footwear were questionable. The bow ties were lovely. The men's pieces sold out fast. I had to claw my way for their accessories. The line for the fitting room was ridic. My advice: hoard now! Try them on at home to avoid the madness. You can always return them later.
I was planning to go to that store on Friday. I hope some people return some pieces and there's at least some items left! Thanks for the hints about the sizing.

I did think the footwear quality looked a bit meh. It's crazy how much they're going for on eBay.

i swing by my local Boston store at 10 AM today while doing another errand and there was nothing left. (i had no plans to get up early for this as there were no items i really wanted).

another shopper asked an SA where the lanvin items were and he said they were all sold out and if she wanted something she "should have been there at 6 am like everyone else". i thought that was a little rude.

i also overheard an SA tell another SA that the lanvin returns would go to the NY stores.

Anybody get the sunglasses? What are they like? Do they have full UV protection or are they just a fashion piece?

this whole thing was insane and part of the reason i went other than i love lanvin was because i was amused and curious on how everything would go. i just did an ebay search and there are 1,441 lanvin for h&m items!!

I'm pretty sure they have to have UV protection don't they? They get sell them as sunglasses if they don't.

Sorry, that made no sense there. I meant to say can't sell them as sunglasses, not get. Weird. I blame the time. Or something.

Is there any difference in the men's and womenswear sunglasses particularly? I noticed they appear in both ranges but look pretty much identical to me!

no, they are unisex.

i dont think the SA was being rude. i think, coming from a person who stood in line for 2 and a half hours, that for people that took the effort to get up early and stand in the cold will have more access to the collection than someone who stopped by at 10am wondering if they still have what she wanted.

i was in a similar situation when I was leaving and saw this girl and guy that just came in talking to SAs if they could still go in. i was thinking to myself, well mens is wiped out and womens has a long waiting list. chances are you wont get a good selection and that coming in early would have given you better options.

its harsh, but you get what you put in.

On another, note should I call in to reserve returned sunglasses? little chance is better than none.

you can try but I don't think they'll be returned especially since prices are going for 8x the original price on eBay, most likely, they are gonna be "returned" there.
