When will all the sales strat in London? How are the sales in designer stores? 40% off or more? What is the best time to come to London for sale shopping? Begining of June?

It depends on the store and what you're looking for. If I don't have anything in mind, I go in mid July when most things are gone because the discounts on the reamining things are amazing. If you want anything in particular, you should go the first or second day.

Some designer shops ofer a "one day" only mega sale, such as Gucci. They even put some rope so people wait in line for the shop to open. Because they only allow a few people in the shop at the same time, you should expect to wait for hours. I have seen people bring their own food and drink for the wait.

Most designers do not reduce the price off their "basic" items. E.g. Chanel only puts seasonal stuff on sale, never 2.55 bags and the like. I have gone to the Hermes sale which was in an external site, all the items were stamped and there wasn't a large variety.

Gina and Loubutin have amazing shoes on sale. The CL boutique is well hidden, though, so it's never that crowded during the sale.

You can expect any range of reductions. Usually from 30% but if you're lucky, some things are 70%.

This is just off the top of my head...

^ Where is the CL boutique? I'd love to check it out during my trip in June. :)

Thank you GirlOfMyDreams for a good answer!

When are this one day mega sales? Begining of June? And how do I know when they are?

TIA!

The CL boutique is in knightsbridge, I forget the exact street, but it IS hard to find. It took me AGES to try and find it and in the end, they were doing repairs so it wasn't open. I think they are opening up another boutique though in Mayfair in Spring/Summer and Harrod's has their own CL concession, the only department store that I'm aware of to do so, though it's teeny tiny

Sorry for late reply, I'd totally forgotten about this.

The CL store is hard to find. I think the easiest way is to go down Sloane St, then take left at Coutts. leaving the park to your right, keep walking until you see a traffic island. The CL is on the street running perpendicular, so head to the left and there it is in the corner with the street where Waitrose and Starbucks are. It is a tiny shop so pay attention...

As for the "mega sales". I have no idea WHEN they are, I usually see the people waiting outside the stores when I go to work in the morning. For Hermes et al, I am signed to amiling lists and such, I will let you know when they happen. No problem.

^ Thanks! Writing down the directions! :D

I also saw in the CL-thread that they're opening a new flagship store in Mount St.? :woot:

Or did I read that completely wrong?

No problem at all.

Re: flagship store - let's hope so, it's about time! Also hopefully it'll be easier to find ;)

Donhay posted this in the CL thread:

LOUBOUTIN'S COMING TO LONDON

spacer.gif
MAKE your way to Mount Street this month for the launch of Christian Louboutin's European flagship store.

Following the recent opening of the Harvey Nichols-based boutique, fans of the legendary shoemaker will now be able to take delight in a gorgeous three-room shop showcasing the latest spring/summer 2008 collection in all its glory.

"In such a pretty street, I want to have my prettiest shoes," says Louboutin of the new Mayfair address.

In keeping with his original boutique on rue Jean-Jacques in Paris, shoes will perch among mirrored alcoves (which also disguise a hidden library room) while handbags will be displayed in brightly coloured tin frames and a Perspex part light structure created by the designer himself, no less will take pride of place. We can't wait.

Hi there,
Could anyone please, tell me, where to find the greatest Mulberry, Zara, Mango and H & M store in London?
Furthermore I´d like to hear where I can find the best Topshop, Muji and Urban Outfitters store?

I would also like to hear where you eat the best sushi or thai?

Sorry, if there have been questions like mine - I´m not that big of a TFS´er yet. Been to London before but that were ages ago. :(

Thanks in advance.

^ Topshop at Oxford Circus!
Urban Outfitters is two stores down from it. MissSelfridge is in between, I think.

There's also a few H&M stores down Oxford St. if I'm not mistaking. But where the absolute best is...well, I don't know.

^Thanks Vista. I´ve returned with lots of goodies from London. Gotta love that city! I went to the Topshop on Oxford....didn´t buy anything, though. It was sooo hot in the store and I couldn´t really make up my mind....so I left emptyhanded.

I´ll return one day I´m on my own, I guess.

yes, the Mount St. store was the one I was talking about. Didn't know they also opened a concession in Harvey Nick's as well but glad they have one out of knightsbridge since I don't really enjoy shopping around there

Can someone guide me to the best places to buy Missoni swimwear? :flower:

Where in London can I find a replica of the anne boleyn b necklace?

I don't want to buy it online. And somewhere in London.
Thanks.

Hey, guys! I'm in England until August 18th and will have a few days to go to London to shop/do touristy stuff. Considering the weakness of the dollar against the pound, I didn't want to buy anything I could get in the U.S. easily (like department stores, etc.)
So, I was wondering if y'all could recommend any shops that I *must* check out and that have very distinct British style.
Thanks!

Everyone in london should goto carnaby street and the shops around it! It is the best if you're not only after the generic stuff. Check out Kingly Court where they have two awsome vintage stores ( i love marshmallow mountain <3) aswell as other independant stores. I live too close to these :/ it's dangerous! But if you're in london and after a bit more than just the high street...go here!
