London shopping

Don't you think its a bit cringeworthy for the Queen that everyone knows who makes her lingerie? I tend to think its a personal thing, not something I would want to be known with the general public. Although, I suppose it is quiet wonderful for Rigby & Peller, I bet they get some business from this.

this isn't a shopping question but does anyone know of a good reasonably priced manicurist in wimbledon - earls court area??

I agree with you...
I just wanted to put out there that M&S are horrible bra fitters!!

Haha, this never occurred to me, but you're right! Though I think it's just standard to be honest - every business that supplies to the Queen or certain other members of the royal family receives a 'by royal appointment' status (from tea to soap).

east london any place for designer clothing? i am thinking around brick lane/shoreditch

definitely START in rivington street (shoreditch)...they've got three different shops in the street, men's, women's and something else?

hoxton boutique just on the corner of old street and hoxton street also sells designers, but it's not as good as START. their selection is amazing.

i suggest walking around the little streets of hoxton, i'm sure there's more little shops in there

COS is amazing, but it's one of those shops that you either love it and get it... or it's just not for you. Very minimal, very relaxed fit on things, but it's amazing design for the money. Really great prices.

i love COS so much, i almost avoid it because i know i'll have to buy something everytime i'm there. as much as they do a lot of blacks, whites and greys the simplicity of their designs is amazing and you can't find anything like it on the high street!

2nd hand shops in london?

does anyone know where i can bring 2nd hand clothes to sell in london?
thanks!:flower:

Incidentally, I'l be going to London for a few days in September and will hopefully catch some of LFW. I know my way around pretty well but I want to deviate a little from the usual shopping routine (Topshop Oxford Circus, Brick Lane, Selfridges, Portobello Road etc). I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for offbeat or off the beaten track places to shop on my trip? Or if ther were any events revolving around Fashion Week that I missed, because it seems like there art an awful lot of fashion-oriented exhibitions going on in galleries and museums around the capital. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Try Claire de Rouen on the Charing Cross road - it's a bookshop but usually stocks hard-to-get fashion magazines

Sadly I'm already home:( in Russia with no Love or Industrie magazine bought:cry:. I was at RD Frank's but they also didn't have them.

and as for shopping places...
I don't know for sure if it's off the beaten places to shop:D but I liked A142 right outside Old Spitalfields market, may be because I've bought great discounted pair of jeans for 20 pounds there:blush:.

I left London but I can't leave this thread I guess until I will go there again:D, so, hope this info will help some of you to find great pieces on salesB).
