Model Casting F/W 14.15

As much as I like Leila Nda, I would much prefer Maria. Leila seems like the go to black model for major shows this season I kind of wish it was more of Riley or Maria but I guess that's this industry work.

why should it be which black model should be doing better than another, as little of them as there are on the runway we should be supporting every one who gets a major booking.

^ I get more Versace vibes from Maria than Leila, even thought i'm happy for Leila i'm not trying to discredit her success at all because she obviously doing very well, I just don't like how its been kind of shes been the token girl of the season. I wish it was more spread out or even all of them together.

Versace was disappointing again. One of the few show that have such a fantastic casting profile, such a legacy, what is wrong with these people?
Listen it's mediocre Russian trophy wife clothing at best, sell it like you used to. Its not like you're doing well, other glamtrash brands outshine you easily, sell your damn stuff and put on a Versace show. Versace is something you need to pull off. Half of these girls were laughable, posing at the end. in fact Lindsey's side view walk made me pee my pants. At least they got Imaan and Kate Grigosomething right. Where were Lieke van Houten? Katya R.? Tami, Maria Borges? Natasha Poly was in town. What up?

Josephine Van Delden as topnewcomer on models.com... seriously? she did a lot of major shows in s/s 13. she is not a newbie.. Hope Ola Rudnicka, Kasia Jujeczka and Brogan Loftus will be there too....

WHAT? She walked 42 shows in all 4 cities. This is crazy

I have nothing against Leila, she's a pretty girl (although both she and Lexi need to be enrolled in a jaw tension smize class with Tyra right away) but not my personal pick for Versace.

I'm totally dismayed about Riley . O.K showlist in New York, picking up steam in London, and then two shows in Milan so far. I guess it doesn't help that she's being snubbed by the casting directors left and right (including one who bloody cast her in a recent magazine editorial...simply oh!). I take back my initial statement; she should have been kept on a worldwide Givenchy exclusive this season, but I suppose no one could have predicted how her season would pan out.

I just hope that she's able to build on her print traction like Anais Mali and Viktoriya before her to make up for her shortcomings.

Bottega saves Milan for me so far...even with the snooze worthy opener/closer who I can't even be bothered to ID. Riley and Iesha's appearances were particularly notable.

Janelle's response to Josephine van Delden being named a top newcomer:

In response to how Josephine can be considered a “newcomer”

The term is kind of a misnomer, over the years there have been many girls to get the title of Top Newcomer without being in the strictest sense new faces. Take Joan Smalls, Amanda Wellsh, Saskia de Brauw as examples – having been around for several seasons does not exempt anyone from being on this list.

Nor does having a very good seasons previously keep you off – as long as you weren’t already named top newcomer or made your way onto the rankings.

Being overlooked in the past shouldn’t stand against someone. There are SO many girls doing well these past few years that sometimes it takes more than just a couple seasons of walking all the right shows to distinguish yourself. Yes she walked 42 shows last season (which is amazing and tires me out just thinking about it) but this season she’s really knocked the ball out of the park too.

In short, could Josephine have been listed a season earlier – probably, but that shouldn’t put a damper on her current accomplishments. She’s definitely earned her place here, she’s been rising steadily since that moment she appeared at Celine F/W12 and now it’s all come together.

And if you haven’t seen your current fave pop up on the list just yet, rest assured that there are still plenty more to come and the list itself has been expanded beyond the typical 10-12 to allot for the fact that there are wealth of girls who are doing great.

I hope that answers any questions.

For real. Rolling my eyes at those who threw shade on Leila for getting picked at Versace and going with the flavour of the month dig. Petty. And of course they chose to pick apart the one in the minority when there were 20 other white girls who can't even deliver on the runway.

Anyway, Cavalli's cast was alright. Charlotte Lindvig and Linn didn't belong there imo. Too quirky to be Cavalli girls.

^ yeah Charlotte... totally out of place.

RC's cast was as always, pretty nondescript.

Her logic is flawed, her applied terminology devaluates the actual impact of the subject. Of course there are many girls. Josephine doesn't need this label in her sophomore year.

Not sure if I missed this is or but is their a creative director this season at Jil Sander?

Eva, Nastya, Harleth, Julie, Waleska, Irina at Jil Sander  so pretty
