Model Casting S/S 16

Watching Gigi trying to stay stable and walk was cringe! Natasha had to slow down just so she wouldn't catch up. Gigi is such a terrible walker. She belong on The Walking Dead, not runways.

I seriously don't get all the hate surrounding Gigi. Sure, her walk's a little awkward, but she can only get better with time. She has a beautiful face and a fantastic body. She looked just fine at Versace to me. There's really not that much to hate about, imho.

Anyway, Versace. It would be my cast of the season if it wasn't so white, but as it is, it's still on the much better side of castings this month.

Yeah I thought it was quite ironic how the soundtrack was all about "we're all the same regardless of race, color, religion etc", yet there was little diversity in the cast, at least when it comes to models of color

On the other hand, even though I'm not a big fan of Gigi (and neither her walk), it's nice that they put someone with more curves in there for once

Not to sound annoying, but I think when you at this Versace cast you get the perfect example on the diversity discussion we were having yesterday. Not a casting director in the WORLD is going to convince me that he/she honestly think that Peyton Knight, Julie Hoomans, Harleth Kuusik, Stella Lucia etc fit the brand/collection/vibe more than Aya, Amilna, Grace, Malaika, Pooja, Karly, Maria, Ajak etc etc etc. I'm not hating on those girls, I think they're great in other shows, but come on...

True. And Gigi's walk wasn't even in the top 5 worst of the show. If there's one place I don't mind seeing her is Versace. She's sexy, she has a great body and she looked pretty damn great.

BTW, aren't model castings weirdest than ever? More varied, very mixed, old and new, looooots of new faces... Plus, models disappear faster than ever, there's no clear generation. And the things happening in the catwalks don't translate into fashion covers or campaings. Or is it just me?

I didn't even care about seeing Hadid, but i loved seeing Natasha and Raquel again. i have such little to look forward to on fashion weeks modelling wise cause the "newer gen" of models is just boring to me.

Yes!!! This 100%. It was such a disjointed cast. It was terrible. A couple big models does not make a cast for me. They all have to fit in with the look of the show.

Yeah, aside from a handful of old school girls (Raquel, Natasha, MCB, Trentini, Liya, Behati, Iselin) the rest of it was nothing special. I guess it speaks to how utterly tedious casts have become when half a dozen in a sea of 40 can get everyone in such a frenzy, lol.
