I think it's great. I actually love the wellies, although the gladiator heels are even more astounding. The mink dress is to die for - the 'primitive' aspect makes a lot of this work, and I do love how relevant the whole thing is in relation to the economy and blahblahblah. Someone else said it already, but I'm glad to see someone kind of facing it head on. Wading through, retreating to the country, or battling the recession...strong ideas and a pretty strong interpretation I think.
For me, the weakest pieces are a lot of the more simple leather coats, like in #215. Doesn't seem to be much going on with them, or they don't strike me as particularly inspiring at least. It just seems everyone is either loving or complaining about the boots but I think they're kind of great.
And of course, the gladiator-flapper dresses are absolutely divine.
