I would like to ask again if Miuccia has been so influential these last seasons...
I think she hitted with the ss2004 collection, it was right on time,
but then it became a cliche for everyone saying miuccia is the most influential...I mean I don't really see her influence on the last seasons...and this one is no exception

Are you kidding, she seems to have influenced all the designers this season. from Burberry to Marc JAcobs to Vera wang to Pringle, I can see her in all of them this season. She is genious. Season after season she manages to distant herself form the copycats and come up with something that other designers will find inspiration from in the seasons to follow. Definitely the most influential designer

I'm interested in it. I THINK I like it.

However, I get annoyed with Miuccia for being too pretentious. "Fake classics?"....please.

Ok. I really like it, take out that heinous shag carpet BS she's doing...tired of fur? What was last fall then? Getting rid of your inventory by slapping fur on everything.

I love those coats w/ the nipple buttons, I love 'em b/c they remind me of the trenchs Tom did for YSL w/ the nips. The shoes I love, the headbands. I love that kind of parts bin look she has happening w/ the accessories.

^ I was thinking the same thing about that strategically placed button on the coats. Obviously, these are a bit less in your face, but the effect is similar.

Am I the only one who likes the carpet pieces. I think the use of the carpet on coats and dresses is interesting and chic in its own paradoxical way.

Mind you, every season there is a Prada quirk that people initially question but then come to love. SS 06: grey socks. FW 0607: fur. SS 07: turbans. FW 0708: carpet. LOL.

^ Actually, in regards to the carpeting, I will have to laugh myself to death if, come summer, Anna & co. are touting those pieces as must have.

It makes me smirk just thinking about it.

ok so she was lazy for this season... or try something like "i'm gonna make the Prada couple"
this is exactly the same as the menswear

Chalayan did it a better way and more interesting for a previous FW season, i think!

Prada said Tuesday that she was planning to show men's and women's collections together, so that she could present "one clear idea" each season.
ok she answered...

You know they will...Anna truly has no style, she just follows whatever Prada does/gives her. Jesus...I can picture it, Gemma Ward wearing a green Prada shag coat in a trash can...

Muppet Chic, Diorling. HELLO, keep up

Oh god, I hope they use it on a cover with someone like Nicole, all pristine and alabaster, from the neck up at least.

Sorry, I was faxing Andre the mood board for the September edition...

Anyways...NO! She needs to look like gutter trash, slap some grease on her face, a yellow Prada shag, an Agent Provocateur panty, and that's it, perched atop a stool at Aureole sipping from a bottle of Moet...Now that's Muppet Chic

You know who would wear those shag coats? Carrie :ninja:

  You guys are hilarious! :shifty:

I can't believe I'm about to type this but... :ninja: ...I like the shag coats...I personaly wouldn't wear one, but I think it's an interesting texture to add to the collection. The suits and cardigans are quite nice also...they fit so loose, but they look as if they are meant to be that way, instead of looking too big. :flower:

i love this! period. no more no less!
great collection, great colors, great shapes, great accessories. after a huge letdown from S/S 07 (with all that satin/turban bullsh*t), this is a great display of the CLASSIC MIUCCIA PRADA!!!!!

amazing that all i can say, very good collection. I love every piece of it.

If thick, shag-fuzzy knits and boxy shapes make the models look like a truck, I don't want to see what it'd look like on an average figure. To say something nice, the collection has great, bold colors. So when I want to look like a great, bold, fuzzy orange and black truck, I'll think of Prada.

Ok..for all the oddities that people keep seeing, it is still a very styled and edited kind of odd-ness. They're all slow growers, the socks, the shoes, the hand-bags (love that wordplay...), the nip coats and even the shag carpet furry pieces...... Miuccia is once again ahead of the game as fabrics like puffa quilting, fleece and now this shag carpet fur stuff seems to be popping up on catwalks (Ann Sofie Back, Marios Schwab, Hamish Morrow) - its like a new way of wearing those once reviled fabrics and I'm personally feeling it all!

The colour combinations are also quite genius.... I love the acid tones with the black and neutrals....

If she is being experimental, then I think it has worked...and I'm not saying that because its Miuccia. I'm really not seeing the oddness as much as everyone else...to me, this is actually very slick...just in a different way.

Susie I'm with you on this....

I would personally love to wear most of the coats and especially the sleeveless coat dresses. I just love the coat dresses....

And I agree about the oddness-factor.... I truly don't find this collection THAT odd to inspire so many negative comments.... it's not as commercial as the Venice collection, but it's still quintessentially Prada imho....

its up at style,

i really like everything, its not all wearable...but its so charming and so prada:smile:

Not a hit for me. I do like some of it, but I really hate a lot of the fabrics, between the shag carpeting and rubber bathmat-looking pieces. The socks--or legwarmers, whatever they are--are kind of cute, but I wish they weren't footless.
