Prada S/S 06 Milan

I think the last piece in #161 is quite cute, needn't a waistline, or it would be no difference with a department piece.....^_^

I am highly anxious to see what is coming out! I think that the material used is linen right? I hope so...I can't take another fall season of being so expensive wool and beading blah. Hard on the pocket book.

That first pic you posted of the dress...I love it. That is at the top of my list. I would cut and past pics of what I want in here but I don't know how.

I wonder when stuff will start coming in.....last spring. The peacock skirt came in Jan and the rest start coming in the very end of Feb and new stuff stopped coming in...about May.

So excited! My SA sent me the most beautiful slightly pleated eyelet skirt...that was long. Everything is very simple, very virginlike this season. I can't wait to touch and feel the fabrics.

i love this collection, nothing too over the top, simple chic pieces, i love the black patent platforms and the school girl silhouette.

I don't know why but after looking at this collection over and over again, it makes me think of gardening in the weirdest way (visors, the garment on Sasha when she first comes out, loose shapes). "Nasty" just made me think of getting "down and dirty". And the way they're carrying mini luggage makes them appear less "glamazon" and "strutting" and more "toting" and "struggling". More "work". That's just the way I interpret it.

i think the cuts are totally unflattering...

haha one of the models looks like an ugly guy :D

Yeah how much do you think it will be? I am guessing around 2kish?

What do you think its made of? Looks like a hard silk but I don't think she used that on the runway...from what I have heard...its linen?

I like the other one you listed, but I can't buy too much white stuff because I am pale and I bought a fantastic white Derek Lam dress.

this is the rest of my yes, I want list...all from style.com

If the first dress we both like doesn't look good...ths could be nice.

I like this top. However, not my fav color but could be a cute jeans top.

If the dress that is my fav isn't good or the second choice dress. I might get this skirt. However, I think finding the right top would be hard.

the cut doesn't look so great on this. It might just b e runway and it might fit better in person. I think the pattern is pretty.

I love this pattern. I don't think its that cute of dress. Its cute really odd in the chest...

00440m.jpg

This could be nice....but kinda dull so its a last kinda choice for me.

this is growing on me more and more.

The problem is. I love dresses but don't want to buy too many because I don't wear them all the time. Basically the whole runway is dresses!

I think I will get the first butterscotch dress and maybe the white above.

What do you think the fabric is?

have you seen any of the pre-collection pieces. Everything is white and cotton. Alot of eyelet skirts and stuff. They are really pretty but super expensive for what the skirt is.

I went to Neimans yesterday and they had some really nice things.

I don't know what my feel for Prada will be this season because I bought so much at the Derek Lam trunk show.

I know I won't be buying any Prada handbags or any shoes probably.

I don't have a feel for what it will be like this season. Its making me nuts!

I agree I love those pieces!

Prada Heaven-

They look to be made of printed silk, rather like the very ubiquitus ribbon print dress from f/w o4

firstview.com

I'd rather it be silk than linen- a better feel againt the skin- of course I don't know if its a special softer linen (?)

you're probably right about the price- 2k, maybe a little more (she shakes her head in disbeleif)

I really like the print on the first one- but I'm not sure about the cut- it looks not fitted enough in the waist for me - I'm very tall and I don't want to look mannish

the top you posted, I'm sure would be cute on someone petite and delicate, but again with my height, I shy away from puffy sleeves, as they broaden my shoulders unnescessarily.

The printed skirt you posted, I love, and I will post something in the " What OUTFIT would you wear" thread in personal style- obviously the runway top is atrocious

I don't like the two graysish dresses with flower prints much -

I do like the black one- it somehow looks kind of 1920's to me, and on someone else - cute- but personally, I do have issues about the waist.

In the style.com reveiw of her collection Muiccia was quoted to say ""I wanted to go forward by trying to cancel out nostalgia. By canceling out the body," I think that we do not need our fashion designers canceling out our bodies- thats what old age and Mumus are for

and the bottom one well- it's very classic, but updated.

I agree about the bags and shoes- I personally don't usually like her bags or shoes- they often have such odd heel shapes- and I don't like the metal triangles.

I am seriously on the fence about this collection. I don't know how real women are going to react to it, as you have to be impossibly tiny to look good in some...most of these pieces. It's a bit complicated and I cant really see the focus...Im not really feeling it, and I usually adore Prada :ermm:

In my humble opinion, this is a transitory collection. Miuccia has let go of the waisted and wide skirts and is working on a new silhouette. The sack dress is of course big news so that is no surprise. The fit leaves something to be desired but these are often show pieces executed in a matter of 2 weeks and not the 6 months the rest of the showroom collection took.

IM FEELIN THE 1ST DRESS IT'S CUTE BUT THE REST ARE NOT THAT HOT.THEY LOOK BIG.MAYBE THEY FIT BETTER ON.
