US Vogue November 2011 : Rooney Mara by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

I think the cover is fantastic, its alot different to what I had inititally imagined it to look like- but I am very satisfied with the final result. I have to applaud Anna and her team for taking a risk and putting Rooney on the cover, She is honestly the last person I would have ever expected to see on the cover of American Vogue. Good for her I say!

Between a not really famous actress and a model i would go for the model :innocent:
But this cover is really nice...

VENTURING INTO THE UNKNOWN!!!!!!!!!

hey gurl...you look uncharacteristically US Vogue..and it ROCKS.

p.s....give Emma Stone a cover.

KITE OUT!

p.p.s I wish the red was lighter...its such a dark cover.

Wow! She looks stunning! I'm shocked that Anna would choose her for a cover and style her like this.

The cover is so lovely, she looks beautiful.. I'm glad they didn't go the character route that W went with

I'm also getting a 90's movie star vibe from her

Wow, this is great. I was hoping, but wasn't expecting, them to to go with this slightly punkish theme.

It's always good when i read the name of the US Vogue cover girl and go, "Who?" It's very attractive.

Wow! This is lovely. I like that they didn't shoot her in character, though still going for a slightly darker theme for the cover.

I do have to say that I'm annoyed with the text. Not even the quantity (though it is a lot) but the fact that they've decided to cover up the beautiful embroidery of a dragon on the back of that Ralph Lauren dress with text, including the word "DRAGON!" I mean, come on now.

Perfection at 3rd, 4th, 5th look! I just can`t help the text! Too much CAPITALS

She looks beautiful and I love the dress. I'm not overwhelmed but the fact that it's a nice image and a refreshing choice of cover star makes me appreciate this a lot. I hated last month's cover, so this feels like a huge upgrade to me.

I'm also surprised Emma Stone gets a feature again and still hasn't had a cover

I know its off-topic but I can see Emma getting a cover next year, she'll be a busy girl next yr so it'd be lovely to see on the cover.

Back on topic :) I didn't even notice the dragon embroidery on the dress, it is a shame they covered up and whilst i know everyone keeps bringing up the abundance of text, i don't actually mind it because for me the image is striking enough to rise above the text...but yes..it would be nice if the text was kept to a bare minimum

It's a good cover and I'm glad they have taken a darker route with the styling and the dress makes sense to me, even if it is all a little obvious. Decent stab.

She looks so stunning. What cheekbones and what a gaze....And the composition of the image is appropriate for the introduction of a new movie star to the general public.

This is the way things should be done.

I honestly don't get people complaining about the text when this is US Vogue we're talking about... Anyways, it's a good cover. There were so many great covers this year.

Even thought I am little doubtful about the American version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo for I am huge fan of the Swedish versions and I think Rooney is a bad actress but I will say this, the cover is pretty awesome. Minus the text, this is a really good cover!
