I doubt gisele would return I highly highly highly doubt it, that was a mutal agreement, it's not like it was just her decision. They just recently pulled all her stuff from the stores and etc anyway so they wouldn't do that just to hire her again either.

I'm guessing the line up will be this for the year

Heidi, Adriana, Alessandra, Miranda, Marisa, Doutzen

with the edition of Emanuela (which is confirmed) and I'm guessing Candice will be added either late this year or early next year

I still have hope for Gisele.

As much as I'm a fan of Heidi, her body isn't in top form anymore. Granted it's still 100% better than the average person who gave birth to 3 kids, but by modeling standards she's not there anymore.

She needs to retire. After the 2008 show it's very obvious she does not have the body for it.

Gisele is too expensive. I thought thats why they ended the raltionship, because she wanted more money and they didnt want to pay it.
From a business standpoint, it makes sense that they would allow someone like Karolina to go and hire someone like Emanuela who probally costs a lot less. I dont know how much Candice would cost but its probally a lot less than someone like Gisele.

Gisele had a contract. I don't think she could possibly cost any more than Naomi or Carmen or any of the other big names who walk the VS runway without a contract.

It's not like she left on a bad note. She has never publicly said anything negative about her experience at VS. It was simply her contract was expiring, she wanted more to renew and when VS could not offer it, she went elsewhere.

Gisele just walking the VS runway as a non-angel would be a pleasant surprise for fans as well as lifting the VS show from its current commercial-only appeal. Every year they're losing touch with the fashion world, the arm waving and antics that they encourage the models to do. They at least need high fashion models to keep that link and credibility as a fashion show, and not a live version of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition or worse, Playboy.

Money isn't an issue considering they keep raising Adriana, and Alessandra's contracts. Adriana and Alessandra both have 5 year multi million contracts (Gisele did as well) All the rest of the girls hold 3 year contracts. The higher paid Angels also get more for campaigns, like Adriana got an extra 5 million for doing the miracle bra re launch and etc. Plus her multi million contract which is their highest 9along with Ale) their biggest contracts. Both of theirs are as big as the rumor stated that Gisele wanted..that's why i believe that was a rumor and they just parted ways because VS has had no issue giving that much to Adriana and Ale now. Karolina was third in line with her contract but it was still a 3 year and not anywhere near what A and A earned.

Like I said I do not believe the rumor of gisele walking away because of money. I believe she walked away because she could and because she wanted to. Adriana and Alessandra get loads of money from their contracts and extra campaigns....they don't have trouble doing this with me...you can't convince me they weren't going to do it with gisele.

I've been a fan of vs for about 10 years and they are not going to get rid of a model 2-3 years ago, pull all of her images from marketing and disassociate with her and then all of a sudden hire her back. It's just not going to happen. Sorry. I will be brutally honest about it.

The girls are judged on how well they are received in the public and if they can move units well. Adriana, and Alessandra have been doing it for years and Gisele did it before them Adriana was signed in 2000, and started working in 1998 for them, Gisele was also signed in 2000 and Ale in 2004. All of them move units better than most of the others and were very well received by the public. Let's face it Angels are their own compition if they can't keep up with the likes of Gisele, Adriana or Alessandra their going to be forced out. Plus if they want to move on also it's not going to look good. Plus I know someone who works backstage with the models and I can tell you it did NOT go over well when KK gained her weight.

Adriana, and Alessandra just recently renewed their contracts (within the last year) and are signed on for another 5 years, the other girls will resign in Miranda 2010, Marisa 2011, Doutzen 2011, and Emanuela who is already signed but hasn't been announced with resign in 2012. They most likely will add candice later this year. But I can tell you after watching them for almost 10 years and watching their marketing they have a very very very distinct pattern with their angels and they've never fallen out of it, and they won't start now.

They're lead Angel (not counting Heidi) is the big guns, she does the big campaigns and the big time launchs and does most of the public interviews which right now is Adriana in the past it was Tyra, Heidi (Heidi shares this with Dri) and Gisele. The next to lead angel (1 step down) is the catalog queen. She's in almost everypage of the catalog, she's in all the posters and etc which is Alessandra currently (it was Adriana before, and Gisele before that and so on) 3rd down is the 'up and comer' the girl who is currently going to be the next biggest star she does a lot of catalog work and some launchs to get her name out there, hence Miranda (Again before her KK had her position, Selita, and izabel, and Ale before Adriana before and so on) and so on and so on each girl has a specific part to play and VS has done this for years. They aren't going to suddenly break their mold.

As for high fashion. Victoria's Secret has never tried nor have they ever wanted to be high fashion for crying out loud. They are a commercial brand and want to stay that way. Maybe people don't like the show but it's not suppose to be a show for FTV it's suppose to be entertaining enough for CBS and the main public, which most of the main public who aren't involved in the industry actually love the show because the models interact and smile and have life to them. I may be biased but Adriana is the about the only model, followed by Doutzen who have any kind of HF experience to them, they are diverse and can still walk in a HF fashion show and fit in and are still desired by some of the biggest names in fashion. If they loose them they'll be in trouble but until then they'll be fine. If they started putting current HF models in it, I wouldn't watch neither would most of the public, because they don't look healthy and they look like they don't enjoy themselves and the to the main public that sucks.

I thought we were talking about Gisele returning as an angel though. I guess if she wanted to do the show again she could, but I doubt that she wants to. She didnt leave on bad terms but she seemed to be "over it" so to speak.

Well, I'm quite sure that money played a huge role in Gisele's case. But I agree that Gisele won't come back. Ever. (Or in two decades when Heidi is about to resign... ^^ )

As for Candice ... As I said before, she's amazing but let's think for a second and pay attention to the changes that are being made. Couple of Angels are out, new faces are in ... and all of these over the last few months. This is just too quick. I mean do you guys remember the part in VSFS 2008 when people are asked about their favorite angel? Almost all of them answered "Heidi" because she's the only one they can recall when it comes to VSFS. (OK, maybe they would recognize some girls from pictures but they definitely wouldn't be able the say exact names...) My point is that this is what VS people could accomplish in the celebrity world nowadays. One name. Heidi Klum. (I admit fans and the ones who are involved in it know more...)
And do they really think people will follow and understand these recent changes? It will take a lot of time...

You're talking just about the Angels though, right? Because VS uses quite a few pretty respectable HF models in their shows every year. The likes of Natasha Poly, Raquel Zimmerman, Carmen Kass, Isabeli, Angela Lindvall, even Lara Stone, have all walked, and many more.

(You can debate over what exactly constitutes a HF model, but plenty of those girls have landed HF campaigns like Gucci / Dior / Versace, for example, hence me counting them. )

And no Little, I'm not on a high horse so to speak but I do know about VS and how their system works. So I do have more knowledge with the company. I'm sure if I went to a few high fashion threads I wouldn't know what the heck I was talking about lol, and I admit that. Everyone would have every right to tell me what was going on when I asked a question, and they knew more. Would it mean they were arguing or something? No. It just meant they were more knowledgeable on the subject that I was.

Like I said I've been a fan for about 10 years and have seen how the system works at VS and have seen how they've signed models and etc. I also know that for a fact Gisele isn't going to come back. I didn't mean to get an authoritative tone, nor do I think I did. I was just trying to make it clear that it's quite obvious she won't come back, the company just won't do it. As for thinking you know nothing? I never said that nor did I intend to come off that way, I was informing people with what I know of a company I've seen grow and a company that I love over the years. So yes I do know about the company and how it works quite a bit. I'm not saying everything is fact either, but I'm saying that after studying the company and knowing even how most companies work, I know pretty much (98%) fact that Gisele will not come back at this point, maybe after the first year she was gone but not now, if that makes me act supiror I'm sorry but I know that this will not happen. Plus from what I've read about how the company split, and how Gisele is right now with her career. She's much happier (from how it appears) to not be doing VS and she's doing much more work.

Prescott I agree about the names on videos I seen from 2007 and 2008 the only models that were named among celebs (in this order) were Heidi, Adriana, and Surprisingly Selita. But Heidi and Adriana were overwhelming. I think it's due to who they are but it is also to do with their staying power with the company.

Yep. I've been thinking about this issue and imo these celebs don't even make the effort the read about or get to know other -famous- models, they simply go with a cliché answer. Heidi. But I'm sure they don't think she's the hottest or the most gorgeous model. Just imagine that you ask a guy about this and he says "Hmm you know, that tall, nice girl ... wait a sec ... with that incredible smile ... what'shername ..."
It would sound pretty stupid so he will probably say the only girl who he knows or has heard about...


By the way, why people are dwelling on Gisele? She will never come back. That's it. It's that clear. I know a lot of peope liked her in VS but her coming back shouldn't have been mentioned in the first place...
