Up close and personal with the six finalists of the Supreme V A Model! competition
Last Wednesday and Thursday, the six finalists of the Supreme V A Model! competition shuttled around Manhattan to their test shoots and castings, and here are the results of their blood, sweat, and tears. Stay tuned for the unveiling of one lucky winner!
Polina Moroz, 16, Ukraine
V Have you always wanted to be a model?
POLINA MOROZ No, I actually always wanted to be an architect. This dream just came about a year ago.
V Why do you want to be a model?
PM I want to meet people. I’m really interested in meeting the really creative designers, and the great photographers. I also always wanted to study abroad, in London. I want to earn money for my studies.
V What is your favorite subject in school?
PM I actually just graduated, but I used to really like math. I also enjoyed drawing.
V What do you like to do now for fun?
PM I don’t really have any time! I’m at the academy of fine arts, so I don’t have any free time. On weekends, all I do is work on homework. It’s really hard to study there!
V Tell me a little bit more about your family.
PM I have a half-brother, who’s one year old. He’s my father’s son. Both of my parents are architects, actually. That’s why I want to do that, I want to continue the family business.

V How did you get into drawing?
AG I’ve been doing it ever since my art class in ninth grade.
V What do you like to do now for fun?
AG I love to run. I hang out with my friends. My family likes going camping on the beach. We like to go hiking, and skiing. The first time I tried skiing, though, I ran into a fence, so it didn’t go very well, but I want to keep doing it.
V Tell us a little bit more about your family.
AG I have an older brother, and a younger sister, who’s in the eighth grade, but everyone thinks she’s older than me, because she’s taller. She actually looks a lot like me, except she’s blonde. My whole family is into sports, but I’ve stopped doing it a little bit so I can focus on modeling.
