I don't understand why people who post in this thread can't understand that this is a TV SHOW, not just a show to cater to your general interest in models and the industry. It's an American reality TV show, it needs to be extravagant, it needs characters who are entertaining, bitchy, or quirky; yes, Jane has the potential to be a model while Chris has a much lesser chance, but Jane is a boring character while Chris is very entertaining and that is why girls like Chris last so long while the non-entities of the show who have more potential get eliminated earlier. The show declines in ratings every cycle, it makes sense that the producers have the girls doing the crazy challenges and the over-the-top photoshoots. Tyra Banks isn't some crazy woman who doesn't have a clue, she knows exactly what she has to do to keep ANTM alive.

that still doesn't explain the horrible photos. You can have drama and still have nice photography... everything just seems so cheap.

I stopped watching this show cycle 5.. and i started watching again b/c of the judges/prizes. and if i remember correctly some of the photos from those earlier cycles were stunning.. this cycle.. not so much.

Tyra obviously has these super crazy photoshopped photos so that when she photographs the girls, it would look the best in comparison to the other photographers!

Honestly, most of the photos Tyra takes of the girls are pretty good because they are pretty simple and basic.

^mwaha they are good pictures because they are good themed photo shoots. Tyra doesn't have the girls doing crazy things like flying over a building, posing while falling, and krumping.

I do have to say however, that the animal photo shoots way back when (the snakes in cycle 1, the alligator in cycle 4, and the elephant in cycle 5?) were gorgeous shots. why can't they go back there?! lol

but my favorite photoshoot of ALL TIME was the mustang car shoot in cycle 3 when the girls posed with their alter-egos. dead. so amazing.

Sometimes I do think ANTM's challenges are really ridiculous...especially the catwalk part.
What the hell is Tyra thinking? Seriously?
I wish this show would end up soon.

but seriously -- the one who won the best picture ... FOUR TIMES IN A ROW?! ok. yeah, it was a great shot. her face looks interesting. but that girl is not a model. what on earth will she model for?! what campaign could she possibly land? where will she earn her money? it won't be from a cosmetics campaign. it won't be for something glamourous and sexy. she won't get it from catalogue work or anything commercial like VS or whatever. and she doesn't have the innate glamour that you need for the edgier fashion houses that might like her insane proportions. i just don't get it.

I completely agree. I don't believe Ann was turned down by agencies (just) because of her height. I don't think she has a marketable face. She can take some decent photos (a lot of girls manage to do that on this show), but her look isn't strong enough to build a career on.

Completely disagree. Chloe has perfect measurements standing at a height of 6´0 1/2. She doesn't have a long torso/extremely small waist versus short leg syndrome that Ann has which doesn't look good on runway or in clothes(the latest shoot she did is a good example). Btw what are Ann's proportions? Are you just quessing?

On the other hand, beauty as a subject is objective but I find Chloe much more beautiful and more symmetrical than Ann(faceshape, mouth, eyes and nose).

Proportionwise she's perfection!

perhaps she's a working model. and maybe Ann could find a bit of work here and there. but come on. she will not be able to find enough success to be considered a TOP MODEL, which is what this particular cycle of ANTM seemed to be promising. it was meant to be greater, and "elevated", and present the winning girl with a legitimate chance to be a top model. the most successful girls these days have to be quite versatile. is Ann?

i'm sorry to be hating on her specifically. it's just that she's been the winner four times in a row now and they're celebrating her as if she's this incredible model. imagine her doing an editorial alongside Daria? or Natasha or Karolina or Joan or Karlie or whomever! eesh. all sorts of awkward.

i think if Ann kept her mouth closed she could really take a beautiful picture. She's soooo awkward at panel/house/one on one interviews. She's one of those girls that Tyra will pin later saying "She's fierce in her photos, but not in person".

I really wish she could just gain some confidence and be a badass so that she can actually show everyone that she's got the package. Like walk into panel with an effin slicked back ponytail or some donatella versace straight hair.lolll Until then, she's just some girl who looks insanely beautiful in pictures... and insecure in person.

but i kind of like seeing the pictures early, it may not be a good thing since i have all these arguments on why this picture is bad and this picture is great and then the judges say something completely different and it pisses me off haha

Well hello Jane! Smiling with yo eyes girl! I don't think the judges will like her second picture but her first and group picture are STUNNING. Anns first pic is amazing. but the rest looks so insecure.

Well achieving a top model status after one season is quite impossible. Chloe has great things lined up and a great possibility to became huge. Top agencies+great shows under her belt+stuff that's coming up. That's miles ahead of Ann and thousand other working models out there.
