Boyfriend Jeans

Yeah, those jeans are cool. I'm a skinnies addict but eager for a fresh change...

your me a year ago....i was wearing skinnies ...a lot...but fact is , they only look good on skinny models, they arent comfortable (and give you camel toes yuck..well they did on me lol) ...i love bf jeans..esp the wide leg variety...since your from UK, could you tell me how the "boy jeans" at dorothyperkins are or the wideleg jeans ( a la topshop kate moss) ? It feels so refreshing that my legs are able to breathe.

I like that pair Jennifer, though I normally like my bf jeans a little more distressed personally. I still have to go to gap and see their pair that was in the ad with carmen kass (I believe). I liked how those looked.

My levis 501s are a bit too too baggy on me now and are just widening me in a strange way :S

i have hips and it makes me look frumpy and big, since it's loose around that area. and it's not just me being unsure. people have told me! i know..rude!
i love this look on tall skinny models in nyc though. only with the right shoes.

It´s so difficult to find this kind of jeans. You have to try a zillion (even brands you usually wouldn´t try) before finding a perfect one.
Things to look for (in my humble opinion)
1) Perfect crotch lenght. Not too big (weird) not tight because that´s not "boyfriend"
2) close to the hip but NEVER tight. If they´re too big they look strange.
3) loose legs but I find some (veeeeeeeery subtle) knee definition definitely a requisite. You can do this afterwards, again very subtly.... VERY, danger of ruining everything
4) classic looks. No embroideries, no details, like the classic basic pants a guy would choose.
5) big low pockets of course
6) comfy waist but not too big, because the belt would look strange cinching too many fabric.
7) Not too long.
8)No fancy washes.

those 70s jeans, with a bit of flare but are still tight on the hips are not boyfriend jeans... Just FYI...

I haven't tried them on, but GAP looks like they have great ones...

^^^^^those are not bf jeans( GAP Just put BF label to cash in on the trends), real BF jeans you get at topshop and dorothyperkins or the new 7 for all mankind jean "jackie".....................

lovemyboots, i wouldn't consider those "boyfriend" jeans for girls, they actually look like they are meant for a "boyfriend"...male..

exactly

"having the feel of of a boyjean" is the point doesnt mean you literally jump into a pair of guys jeans, that would make you look frumpy...

first try topshops boy jeans...as it is gaps clothes are sh*t quality..............then give me your answer...

Actually, a lot of GAP's clothes are of quite decent quality. I won't repeat my other points on this subject.

you read my mind girl! i am dying of laughter over here!!

^^^^i hope thats a good thing...but yeah my cousin in UK got my cousin these "boy jeans" similar to what kate moss wore at the top shop show ( dont get into a debate out this ...topshop calls em boy jeans..others wide leg...its basically roomy and non stretchy) they are comfy and roomy but fitted at the top ,so your *** doesnt look like curdled milk(like those jeans posted from the gap above which i did try on), but snug and fit...........

yes it's a good thing.
it's so true though! you think it would be more obvious to people...

did this trend die before it started? kate's gone back to wearing leggings and skinnies, and the hype about boyfriend jeans being the next big thing seems to have died down....

i dont think so.....its influence is more so being felt in trousers not so much in jeans...i would say...plus it takes time for a look to filtrate down , people already had it with skinnies...well kate moss is the one who wore skinnies and looks the best in them lol..by this time next year ask this question..plus as it is 2006 is the year of the skinny lol.....and its still 2006...

if you go to top shop and and many up and coming brands, the shift in denim has been towards higher waisted jeans with straight and wide cuts , which are more flattering than skinnies in my opinion and not frumy like the typical boyfriend jeans are 501s.

I'm really not sure about boyfriend jeans, from what I've seen they look bad on everyone. Plus where I live it used to be a trend about 2 years ago along with the skate thing.
