Gucci F/W 2006.07 Milan

Looking at this collection and the last collection, they seem inconsistent within the collections themselves. It just lacks solidity. They're weak. It's a nice start for her, but I will always say they should have never gotten rid of Tom. :ninja:

i think i am the only one that loves this collection...but i can't help it...that dress on daria:heart:

whatever...to each their own i guess is what they say..some people are gonna love it, some people are gonna hate it..beauty is in the eye of the beholder...what is gorgeous to some is not to others and vice versa...

if everyone in the world liked all the same clothes, it would be a pretty damn boring place ;) :flower:

that was deep:lol: :D :p

I think the thing that ultimately bothers me is that it's clear Giannini just does not have an individual and strong personality to head this brand. Her cruise collection had people screaming Michael Kors, then the spring collection was a mad mix of 2005 LV with a bit of Rochas thrown in for evening, now this poor attempt at recreating Gucci's earlier collections.....it's just not working for me at all. My opinion, the girl is in way over her head.
Couldn't have said it better Spike...
I agree this collection seems to be all over the place, but its not too bad, albeit too Versace. Overall pretty ambivalent..

^ Very true jssy4eva! And i'm guessing you found the entire collection but if not, according to Frida, its all up at Gucci.com :flower:

I was really looking forward to this collection because I came to really like Frida's last collection (although I hated it at first). At first glance I hated this collection, but after thinking about it I don't think its that the collection is bad so much as it's badly styled. I think the thing that makes Frida unique is that she dresses and designs like a young woman who wants to have fun, but not nessecarily in the bedroom. These clothes have been styled to bring out the bedroom element, but if you took away the tacky tights and the horrible hair some of the clothes would be really fun to wear. So I'm not blown away, but I still have faith in Frida. P.S. I LOVE MARIA CARLA'S HAIR

with the exception of a few dresses i do not like this collection at all. it seems oversexed in a too ovbious way, IMO, and unlike others i really liked the gucci spring collection so this change is not too welcome.

I agree...but like I love the accesories..hmmm i just dont know about this collection....I really cant say anyhting i just cant :(

i have some mixed feelings about this collection; there are things that can be picked out. But I am glad that this is her vision of Gucci and she is not stuck under Tom Ford's image.

This is true..Tom refined Gucci, but he isnt Guccio Gucci. Many ppl look for every1 to follow Tom, but that is hard cuz after all they arent Tom. I would just like to see some sex appeal mixed with great design...but keeping in line with the image of the house too is important so I feel there should be some Tom elements. But also make the elements Guccio Gucci used more public so that people can observe the tradition more.

Unfortunately it all looks like copies of Cavalli/Missoni/Versace/etc.....

GUCCI experts I need your help. I just had a question, I went to the Gucci Outlet, and bought two bags, but I noticed that the tag inside, beside the R on top of the Gucci word there is a "G" stamped beside it. Why do they do this? Also, I bought the floor model, and they pocked a hole through the tag on the lower left. Again does anybody know why they do these things to it? I'm especially curious as to why they stamp the G on the tag.

ok this is my review...it sexy and it fun..it'll definetly work for who it's aimed at...maybe it is a little provocative, but it really isnt that bad..go out on a friday night to a club and you will see alot of women dressed like this..it's just flashy, but i love it..that's the whole point of fashion week..don't show us things we can buy at the gap...give us excitement

maria carla reminds me of kate moss - remember the short blonde hair?

bleh i can't stomach this. like many other said, poor imitation of ford. its like the poor man's tom ford, so sexy it becomes distasteful, so overdone it becomes gauche. the inflated version of gucci.

OMG what exactly is a Gucci outlet? Someone told me that there was a Prada outlet in Chicago and I became really confused about such a concept...

I think its an okay collection...i didnt like the last one though but this is more fresh! I cant wait to see S/S but i gotta wait like 7 months WAAAAAAAAH :(

The problem with this is a RTW from Gucci didn't really exist before Tom. Gucci was just handbags. There wasn't a collection by Gucci like there was from Chanel or Dior, so the houses RTW design identity is the one Tom created.

i found this a hard pill to swallow..actually after opening the thread..i said to myself "did they fire her?", it was that much of a turnaround...

whatever happened to "positivity" and "stronger femininity"? i guess "tacky" is the new sobriety. seriosly, what a volte face! i see a good dress here and there, but that's with any collection..gosh it just looks cheap:cry:

hoochie mamas rejoice!
