The Mean Girls star has committed to star in Escaping the Game, a drama to be shot in the U.S. and Spain.

The contracts have not yet been signed, producer Nathan Folks tells RadarOnline.com exclusively but he's optimistic Lindsay will not be going to jail and they can get the deal done in the next several weeks.

"She wants to do it," Folks, who calls Lindsay a good friend, tells us.

The plot line for Escaping the Game seems right up Lindsay's alley. "It's about celebs who become very famous and can't take it," Folks explains. Several fake their own deaths and create a new life for themselves on a remote island. Lohan's role would be as an investigator who is hired to get to the bottom of their disappearances.

Folks is so confident Lindsay will stay clean and sober and out of jail, he's already figured out how to get her insured for his $30 million project.

"We can get her insured if she is with someone who is keeping an eye on her 24/7," Folks explains. "Lindsay and I've discussed it and she's already agreed to the condition."

In talks to costar with Lindsay is Chris Zylka, who appeared in the short-lived TV series 10 Things I Hate About You and should break out big time next year as one of the stars of The Amazing Spider-Man.

It doesn't sound that bad really. One of my wishes if I ever won a MegaLottery would be to buy an island and turn it into an exclusive residence/resort/community for celebrities who want to escape the stalkerazzi.

Dina to the rescue: Lindsay Lohan's mother and sister Ali jet to LA to support troubled star

She's been pining for her mother to pay her a visit.
And now all of Lindsay Lohan's wishes have come true, as her mother Dina Lohan touched down in Los Angeles today to visit with her troubled daughter.
The blonde Lohan matriarch was accompanied by Lindsay's sister Ali, who the actress is also extremely close to.

Both wearing leather jackets, Dina and Ali were also joined by Lindsay's two brother's Michael Jr. and Cody just days ahead of Lindsay's next court appearance.
The family are here to support Lindsay who was charged with grand theft felony last week, after allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace.
They will no doubt head straight to troubled starlet who is not allowed to leave California under the terms of her probation.
The Lohan's are all reportedly staying with Lindsay at her Venice Beach house.
Their visit comes two days before she will face a court again to learn her fate of her recent charges.
Celebrity website TMZ reports that 48-year-old Dina and her daughter plan to spend some quality time at LiLo's Venice pad and work out together, the source revealed.
