Lindsay Lohan has a half-sibling, she revealed Wednesday on her MySpace celebrity blog.
"My father just let my family and [me] know, amongst other [things] that he had another child after my little sister Aliana," Lohan, 22, writes in a post titled "Random Thoughts."
She continues: "Or maybe he had it before Aliana?? Either way, he cheated on my mother and that really sucks."
It is being reported that Michael Lohan's other child is a girl. Efforts to reach Michael Lohan for comment were not successful.
Noting that she's "going through a lot right now," Lohan grows introspective in the entry.
"I think that people go through a lot in life," she writes. "And the things that we go through, whatever they may be, simply just make us stronger in the long run. That is, if we actually take what it is we have learned from our mistakes and teach ourselves what NOT to do in the future."
Likens Self to Britney
In her post, the actress also says she plans to spend the holidays in Los Angeles with girlfriend Samantha Ronson.
"It is the first one I am spending away from home," Lohan writes. The actress also sends out holiday wishes to her mother, grandmother and siblings, Aliana, Cody and Michael.
Lohan also says that she identifies with another celebrity who has struggled publicly this year: Britney Spears.
But Lohan looks to Spears's recent comeback – her successful new album Circus and upcoming tour – as another learning opportunity.
"[Upheavals teach] young girls and boys that there are certain things in life that you should not let get in the way of your dreams and accomplishments," she writes. "At the end of the day, you have to look at yourself in the mirror and see who you really are."
Continues the post: "So YAY Britney for just being you and still following through with your dreams."

^ What did you say- I didn't find it... BTW, why are celebs always being taken to the hospital for "exhaustion"? I never heard of anyone in real life having that kind of problem...These guys do it all the time...

Never able to stay mad at each other for too long, Lindsay Lohan and girlfriend Samantha Ronson were spotted out for a last-minute shopping trip in Los Angeles on Wednesday (December 24).
Browsing the racks at the Diesel store for Christmas Eve deals, it appears as if the "Georgia Rule" starlet and her British DJ lover have made up just in time to celebrate the holidays together - as the duo reportedly had an "epic" fight that ended up seeing Miss Ronson taken to the hospital for exhaustion this past Sunday.
According to a report from TMZ, "They (Lindsay and Sam) were going at it for a long time, but it reached a crescendo at around 4:00 AM after one of them screamed at the other, 'You never say you love me.'"
Their inside source adds, "The screaming continued and neighbors heard a glass break. Sam then screamed, 'If you're gonna break things get out of my house.' One neighbor described the conversation as 'wailing, with lots of obscenities.'"

Exhaustion must code word bull$h!t excuse.
I'm so sick of seeing interviews and photoshoots about Lindsay, in all of which she is whining about how people don't take her acting seriously. Maybe if she only did these interviews when she actually had something to promote besides herself, people would? It's hard to take someone doing such obvious, aggressive self-promotion seriously! I think the best course of action would be to shutup and do some work, just stay low for awhile.

People think I don't like Lindsay since I make fun of her, but I actually love her and it makes me sick to see someone so talented and beautiful wasting her life the way she is...I really saw a young Ann Margaret when she started- she can sing, dance and act- she really needs to get back to work, assuming anyone will take a chance on her anymore, and get the heck away from the lifestyle and "friends" she has been around the last few years...The media attention, for what it is worth, will not last forever; it is beginning to remind me of people watching a trapeze act secretly waiting for them to slip and fall. I think she is quickly running out of chances to get it right...

After running the day's errands, the trio eventually made it back to the assistant's home only to find themselves swarmed by paparazzi.
The previous night, Lindsay was out sans Ronson, as well, with a source telling E! News, "She seemed kind of indifferent, emotionless. It was definitely apparent her friends were trying to cheer her up. It looked to be a 'first night back out on the town' sort of thing."

And now there's buzz about Miss Lohan flirting with actor Sean Penn at Nobu last night, as a source revealed, "Sean was the only guy at a table full of Lindsay and her friends. The whole table chatted and chain-smoked."

• On public misconceptions: " ... The worst part is, in terms of what people see of me, I have become this girl who just loves to be photographed, doesn't know how to focus, doesn't know how to work on set, just loves the attention, knows how to go out at night, knows how to party."
• On her status in Hollywood: "I just feel as though it's become a situation where people have manifested this caricature of who I am, and they act as if there's no real person inside of it. I mean, people really have come to believe – directors, producers, agents, whoever it may be – that I started in this because I wanted to be a celebrity. But that was never my intention." • On not getting the same opportunities as other actresses: "But it's so impossible for me to actually [go someplace where no one knows me]. When I was in Dubai, there was still press lined up around the hotel. So I find it close to impossible to actually do that. I mean, it is what it is. Who saw I Know Who Killed Me? Lindsay Lohan is often labeled as the "actress from I Know Who Killed Me" nowadays so I had high hopes and invited friends over to watch the movie at my place, expecting a really good thriller. I haven't laughed that much in quite a while, I don't even know where to start, the script? The special effects? The psycho from Desperate Housewives? lolololzzzzz!
