Lindsay Lohan and DJ gal pal Samantha Ronson canceled a Valentine's Day gig in South Florida, saying they are too sick to travel.

They were scheduled to host and spin at Passions, a late-night club connected to Hollywood, Florida's Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

"We really feel bad, and I work sick when I can, but unfortunately I couldn't drive to Miami, so I'm stuck in New York City with doctor's orders not to fly," Ronson tells PEOPLE. "Any reports otherwise are false and unfair."

"Lindsay and Samantha stayed out late last night in New York City, and are not feeling well," Amanda Senoff, director of marketing for Passions, tells PEOPLE. "A doctor said Sam was too sick with the flu to travel and Lindsay is also feeling sick. So they rescheduled for March 7."

A source close to Ronson tells PEOPLE, "They are both sick with ear infections. Sam needs her ears, and flying with an ear infection is a risk that she can't really afford to take."

The situation leaves Passions, which was paying big bucks for the popular pair to entertain, without a headline DJ and host for the combined Valentine's night/President's Day weekend, the busiest time of the year for south Florida tourism.

"I conferenced all of Lindsay and Sam's managers for three hours today trying to remedy the situation, and they agreed the girls are sick," adds Senoff, who recently joined Passions after a similar stint at Borgata in Atlantic City. "What can I say? I am disappointed because this is my first booking for Passions, but these things happen."

February 15, 2009 — **'SAMANTHA Judith Ronson, why are you doing this to me?" cried Lindsay Lohan as she chased her DJ lover down East First Street in the wee hours of Valentine's Day. Taking furious puffs of her cigarette and clutching a pink handbag, Lohan's wails echoed through the streets as she tailed Ronson all the way from the Eldridge to the Bowery Hotel.
The pair had been getting along just fine inside the lounge, where Charlotte Ronson was holding her after-party. But then a Cupid's quarrel arose - or as Lohan put it, pleading with her girlfriend while standing in the middle of Houston Street, "What are you talking about? I've been with you all night!"

A First Hand Account:

I had arrived towards the end of Charlotte Ronson's after party Friday night at the Eldridge, where the signature cocktail is made with real gold leaf and goes for $32 a glass. As I approached the velvet rope, a side door swung open and Samantha came rushing out, eyes cast downward, a scowl on her face. A moment later Lindsay emerged, clutching a pink purse. She took off after her DJ girlfriend, who at 31 is almost a decade older.
Jogging along as fast as her high heels would allow, Lindsay kept up a steady stream of pleas and wails. I followed just a few steps behind, recording in my reporter's notebook the dialogue of this scorned lover.
At one point Samantha stopped in the middle of Houston Street and said something in a whisper.
"What are you talking about?" shrieked Lindsay in response, "I've been with you all night!"
Samantha seemed to notice me standing there and took off once again, Lindsay following and only stopping to light a cigarette, which she puffed on furiously as she yelled.
I continued following behind, matching Lindsay's stride, and watching as two paparazzi darted in and out of traffic to get their shots. Other than the photogs and myself, no one out on the 1 a.m. street seemed to notice a starlet in their midst.
Lindsay stomped out her cigarette just before following her girlfriend into the Bowery Hotel, where they either made up or else continued the emotional meltdown in more private quarters.
As I strolled away, I was struck by two things. First- how painful it must be to have a lover who is so much older, and probably more emotionally mature, toy with your heart and mind.
Second- how identical Lindsay Lohan's screams sounded to the drunken female cries I hear every night outside my East Village window.

"A lot of meetings for movies and stuff," she explained. While we haven't heard of any new movie castings for LiLo, she has a few other non-cinematic projects in the works, including a self-tanning line for Sephora and a diamond jewelry line.
LL stayed mum on what makes her relationship with Sam Ronson work, but clearly she's supportive of her girlfriend. She arrived with Sam, who was deejaying the party, and hung by her side most of the night, refusing a glass of champagne offered by an unknowing waiter. Maybe she should have snagged some hors d'oeuvres.
The Mercedes-Benz party, where Bridget Moynahan and Padma Lakshmi were also hanging, wasn't the only affair on Lindsay's list. After Sam finished spinning, the couple was headed to Madonna's exclusive afterparty for more fun.

Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan had a spat at Oseary's. A source said, "Sam was so nice and chill. She came up to the deejay booth to speak to Jus Ske and DJ Kiss. But then Lindsay came up and started to argue with Sam. The more Sam tried to calm her down, the more irate Lindsay became."

What does Warren Beatty have in mind for Lindsay Lohan?

He has something, because Beatty is apparently dangling a new movie role in front of the irrepressible Lindsay. But it has some strings attached to it.

What I’m told is that Warren, the smartest guy in Hollywood bar none, wants Ms. Lohan to come live under his roof — at least one of his guest roofs — while he shoots this movie.

And wait, you’re wondering, what movie is this? Beatty is said to have a script he wants to direct and star in, with La Lohan possibly playing his daughter. (If it’s his love interest, well, I’m not going there and I’m sure Warren isn’t either.)

Lindsay is said to know this is a chance of a lifetime and a way to re-start her languishing career. Recent efforts, like that horrid John Lennon murder movie Chapter 27, haven’t left her in the greatest shape. On the plus side, she’s clean, sober, happy and looking great.

But Lohan is a gifted actress with a lot of baggage and rep for not making it to the set always on time and in one piece. So Beatty’s proviso sounds like a smart idea. And how bad it can be to live up on Mulholland Drive under the aegis of Annette Bening? I can hear a lot of young actresses heading to the phone now to try and get that gig.

Lindsay has a lot of friends in the business including Conde Nast/Vanity Fair genius editor Ingrid Sischy. The former pilot of Interview magazine is said to be eager also to help Lindsay get back on track, and has offered her (the right kind of ) magazine covers. So it’s up to Lohan, who’s wasted too much time playing at life and a career.

Does the person who wrote this have an Internet connection or watch the tabloid TV shows!!? How ridiculous...She is a very long way from clean, sober and happy...If this is true though, Warren, and Annette are to be commended- There may be two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Lindsay- I wouldn't expect this sort of chance to come around again...

I don't remember- the past (several) times when Lindsay had problems- how did she finally get help? Health or legal matters? Or did it come from her?...What is needed is months away in treatment- and not one of these phoney celeb deals with shopping trips to Hollywood every few days either...I mean- away, getting help for a long time...

In 'Please Don't Happen News': Li-Lo & Lily Allen To Record Album on Holiday

You know that part in Titanic where the ship hits the iceberg and there is nothing you could do to stop it? Yeah, I feel like that right now.
According to a source quoted by U.K. tabloid The Sun, Lindsay Lohan and Lily Allen are planning to record tracks together while on holiday in the Bahamas with Lohan's girlfriend, Samantha Ronson. "They've discussed making a record together, possibly at a pre-arranged studio, while they're away," the source said.
So basically amazingly talented Lily Allen is going to do all the work while Lohan sits and says something like "that sounds dope, love it, nice one." Maybe I'm just confused as to what Lindsay will actually be doing on this project. Hopefully SamRo will step in and bless the album with some Ronson mojo. Either way, I'm going to try to keep an open mind on this one and give it a chance.
Who knows, maybe it's just some trick by Dina Lohan to throw us off her scent.

I hope the Friedman/Fox story is true because it would be nice to see her actually working. Then again, she looks the farthest thing from clean and sober, not to mention healthy. I think it's safe to say she is back on something and clearly not eating. Those Slimane pics really show how bad she has fallen...again!
