Lanvin for H&M (Update....Second Collection?)

H&M are doing no preview/launch events with any publication prior to the collection's release. The only way to get pieces will be when it officially goes on sale. I spoke to the PR today who confirmed it. There's no partnership with Vogue/GQ/Teen Vogue etc.

wow, really? so they even canceled the usual shopping event for press and invitees the night before? launch events and parties? no? nothing? not even the usual preview for the press at the showroom before the clothes go on sale?

Yup! Very annoyed, as I always have an invite. I'll have to line up on the 23rd now!

It doesn't look like there'll be any form of preview really. At least not a public one. There should be a collection launch party for very selected members of the press, in Paris, however this is all after the collection has shown fully on the website! So it's not like they'll see anything earlier than us really...

Images will be sent to publications such as Grazia in the week of the launch, and the ad campaign should surface in selected December issues, all of which should be out after the collection has been shown online. I believe the first will be in UK Vogue & Elle? So there's a very, very slightly chance these will surface before the show goes online. Although I imagine H&M will anticipate that and have made sure it wont be the case. They might also carry some form of preview of the pieces, but I'd say it's highly unlikely, as that would mean they'd have to have the images now, as the issues close very soon.

But no, no preview parties/customer launch events, or anything...They're really working this collection differently to any previous ones.

This better be a DAMN GOOD collection, because that marketing strategy is so annoying. I went from super excited to "release the damn pics already". It's all fine when it's Tom Ford, but a H&M collaboration? No. Those blurred video... I mean...

I wish they carried the collaborations at more stores. They never have anything at the H&M stores in my area so I end up having to get them on ebay for double the price.

I can't wait to see what they got. I bet its going to be like a madhouse, the day it launches.

It would be so funny to see this collaboration become SORT OF disappointing.

Hate the blurred stupid promotion!:angry::angry::angry:

I agree, the blurred video was plain stupid. They should just release the images and build it up that way like before, instead of releasing a pointless blurred video.

I thought the trailer was cute! I'm sure those black dresses on the maids will be for sale?

I sonder who are we piss of about. H&m or alber? :D

I personally think that blurred video is Abler's charming decision.

In previous H&M collaborations with other major fashion houses, their strategies were not as notorious as this one.

Plus, did you know Alber's attitude on this collaboration? Here it's what he said:
I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public."
Looks like H&M is a beggar and Lanvin is a quite "generous" giver...LOL.
Apparently, Alber hates mass market.
However, every single time I saw his childish and awful mid-priced Lanvin Tshirts  in boutique for sale, that definitely makes me laugh.

I have mixed feelings about this, but if I want to buy, my mum just moved and her city has an H&M and I'm beyond excited.

I think the indications of lining up for this collection without anyone actually having seen it really speaks for these collaborations. 99% hype, 1% about the product itself.

What Elbaz said in one of the promotional videos really made me lose a lot of respect for him. He literally said that H&M managed to perfectly emulate the quality of Lanvin for a fraction of the price. if this were true, he might as well say that a $3000 Lanvin piece is actually worth $50. can't believe how badly he sold out.

 wow. seriously. I am excited over this collection, but I'm not making any final conclusions or decisions until i see pictures of this collection. This marketing/hype strategy is irritating and could just turn me off to the whole collection before images surface online.

Now we finally knew the other side of Mr. Elbaz...:ninja::ninja:

I don't really get that comment. What do you mean line up for it without having seen it? It goes on the site on the 5th, and then collection launches the 23rd - slightly differing depending on what country you're in.

So that's two and bit weeks to decide if there's anything you'd like to line up for..
