Louis Vuitton S/S 2009 : Madonna by Steven Meisel

thank you for the HQ's surrealseven.

I like Madonna as a singer but as far as these ads go,umm, the way she is holding her leg up bothers me:yuk: Yeah, I feel as if she does that 'pose' all the time now! I am still disapointed by these and have tried to like them but can't.

The only thing that bothers me is the fact that her skin looks gray :ninja: like she got some kind of food poisoning at that cafe, lol.

I kind of want to hate this? I think mainly because Madonna is wearing those awful tights.. but I actually enjoy it.

I LOVE Madonna I do...but I agree with those that feel like she does'nt belong in LV. I dunno, I'm just biased because I hate when celebs appear in fashion campaigns. eh it's hard to explain. *shrugs*

It would've looked great if it had the styling of make-up & hair from the show.

I agree, the dark make-up and the african hairstyle would be perfect but not on Madge.

This is exactly the change Vuitton needed!

Thank god that M&M are out with their "kitchy attack you colours" and a master like Meisel was brought in, this looks captivating in a non agresive way, and it works for me, after i take focus of her its all about those fabulous shoes, and what else she has on.

And its nice to read that Meisel might stay for a while as the campaign photographer.

Very surprised the ads are out alredy though.

I second this completely. Usually I'm not too fond of the LV ads; it reminds me of D&G dresses, they just always look the same.
And this is really something different. Like it a lot.

Meh, the obvious retouching, the as mentioned "hey im old and can lift my leg" pose..are all just meh!

^ some stores have vitrines for products, et al
and then there's some stores that also have windows were they can't put products (for whatever reason) so they put the campaign in them. i.e: one of the barcelona stores.

mh. actually i can't imagine why one would choose Madonna (as a protagonist of a campaign) over any model.

I dislike that leg/yoga picture because the leg up in the air looks shorter than the other one, a photoshop mistake perhaps? Another thing that distracts me is that the clothes and accessories really aren't madonna's style, so she(or the clothes) looks a bit out of place. Overall I like the set and mood of these, very different from previous Vuitton campaigns.

Fifty is not old anymore these days and thousands of people far over fifty can lift their legs like she does in the picture because they exercise and are fit. I cannot stand this attitude towards people older than one is her/himself. Why so respectless?
