I wouldn't complain at all if that was the case But then again, I'm not within Pirelli's usual demographic...

It's all Dior couture, no? In the image that I have of Pirelli, this is quite a strange direction. I don't know if this is gonna sound sexist or whatever, but I want to see some boobs in this! I remember the calendar of 2004 I think with Ai Tominaga, Adina Fohlin, KK, Mariacarla and more in fashionable images with boobs peekabooing in a very sensual way. That was a great mariage between the two extremes and I'd like to see that again.

I have to agree - what's the point in a Pirelli calendar if it means men's right hands are redundant because nothing is saucy enough to catch the eye and stay in the mind. That is the point of Pirelli. Supermodels got into the game of posing for Pirelli because it both reinvigorated the calendar and raised their profiles, at a time when supermodels were also doing photoshoots for Playboy.

But now the calendar seem to be nothing more than an exercise in yet more high fashion - we have enough of that already. It's not being sexist to say, let Pirelli be a place where bums and boobs come out to play.

However, is this "clothed" Pirelli a reaction to just how much flesh is shown elsewhere? Have they decided that it's more erotic to cover up? I could see the rationale in that, even if it's disappointing.

I appreciate that they're stepping out of the typical horny male mode. Hopefully it'll be beautiful, exotic and sensual. Sexy doesn't mean t*ts and ***, hence the geisha theme.

But consider the brand, the identity and history of Pirelli. I'm sure many people would appreciate it if Playboy stopped running centrefolds and started doing coverage of A/W catwalks - but then it wouldn't be Playboy. And the people who look forward to it might not be interested anymore.

We would be more interested - but we already have a panoply of fashion magazines that cater for our tastes in sensual images. It is so very bad for Pirelli to be a once-a-year outing that caters for "obvious tastes"? Especially when catering to obvious tastes is how it gained its iconic status?

A Pirelli without boobs is like a tiger without teeth. It still looks good and it can't do any harm to anyone, but where's the basic thrill?

I think you guys are jumping the gun a bit. I'll be suprised if a good portion of the photos aren't at least sexy with some showing patial nudity.

I agree even thourg I really like those preview pics what we have seen.. but they are just not so Pirelli (for me)
