Prada S/S 2014 Milan

I wouldn't look at this collection and see Spring summer at all, very autumn/winter, That being said I loved the blue coat Sasha Luss wore, the socks I hate, the accessories/bangles are lovely.

I would never wear dresses with huge illustrations on them especially colourful and distracting ones, but out of curiousity I'd like to know who the artist of those illustrations are.

^^I believe it's Jeanne Detallante. She's one of the artists who painted the walls

The use of Britney's new song was the best thing about the show.

There were some good pieces here and there, but the overall direction seemed so banal and tacky. The repetition of faces on the garments, the bra design over the dresses/coats, the pinata-like embellishments, the loud bright colors. I'm sure we'll see a ton of it in editorials, fashionistas trying to make it work, and others trying to copy it for seasons to come, but I didn't do much for me.

^ That's the 'Prada' dichotomy nearly every season.

I don't gravitate towards this collection in any way, at least not at the moment. It was very full on and quite kitschy. The faces on the dresses were a bit too much for me, as were the embellished coats at the end. This coming from one of 8 people in the universe who like the Resort collection as well .

The detail shots do make me appreciate certain aspects of the collection more though and come February the collection will probably click with me I be so into bras over jackets etc.

The collection was like this coming to life:

So good. It had the amazing artistic elements from Spring 08 mixed with amazing texture and sporty feeling of Fall 07. I can't help but love when she goes unapologetic kitsch. It was like an ode to modern pop culture through Frida Kahlo and Elsa Schiaparelli.

I know that Prada is known for being kitschy, but this was a little bit too much for me.

so bored with the 'whatever works worst' approach to styling, it just isn't very interesting anymore.
the streetstyle celebs already can pick an outfit for next season.

anyway, this is like the 6th prada collection in a row that i didn't like, i guess me and prada are officially over.

Yeah-- this is Prada as the ultimate Pop Queen, complete with Brit's new track. Kind of a lovely best-of-Prada mess.

It may be seen as Miuccia just having fun and being the oddball designer she's always been accused of. But when she came off left field before, she usually was at least original; now she's just referencing herself 100-percent: S/S 2008 with those delicate and feminine drawing have turned into Pop Art-- verging on gaudy Jean-Charles de Castelbajac naivety; Jeweled and bedazzled trimmings that's become a Prada trademark since S/S 1998; The graphic and athletic color-blocking and those clever knee-high gym socks-cum-legwarmers of A/W 2007; and even the menswear collection of S/S 2013 with their 70s tracksuit-vibe showed up again in this collection. It's literally a Prada cut-and-paste collection to me.

Her color palette is on mark as usual-- that's something she never even slightly stumbles at: Miuccia's like Prince running in stilettos with her color palette-- she's a natural and master of color.

I guess for the Anna Piaggi types and for all those that love love love looking like a walking kaleidoscope (albeit a very nice one), this is a feast. For me, it may be a mess-- but it's still a Prada mess, so it's still better than most messes out there.

I would never wear dresses with huge illustrations on them especially colourful and distracting ones, but out of curiousity I'd like to know who the artist of those illustrations are.
so many artists involved like El Mac, Stinkfish, Pierre Mornet, Jeanne Detallante, and Gabriel Specter.

The colours are very eye-catching and so are the illustrations but I agree with Psylocke, the novelty wears off very quickly...it's like seeing 2-3 dresses repeated 20 times.

It's all over the place, too much going on, unflattering bras, not really for the usual woman and more winter than summer, but this is gold for the magazines.

Takes time to digest but it's all in the detail!
The accessories--shoes especially are gorgeous.
The only thing is that the idea behind the styling is good, it's just the details of the execution...an inch here and there would have achieved just-so balance.
