The Model Agency Mega Thread

IMG Models senior manager Kyle Hagler has joined rival modeling agency Next Management as president of its New York division, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Hagler will report to Next co-CEOs Faith Kates and Joel Wilkenfeld.

“Kyle is a brilliant manager and a creative strategist,” Kates said in a statement. “We are so excited to be working with him and look forward to his ideas and experience in this ever-changing industry. He is a star maker with an amazing eye for talent and such elegant style.

During his 17-year career at IMG, he launched the careers of Joan Smalls, Hilary Rhoda and Liya Kebede. He has also worked with Heidi Klum and Naomi Campbell and repped Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Karmen Pedaru. IMG Worldwide was acquired by WME last month after the Hollywood agency submitted a winning $2.35 billion bid.

Next, which also has offices in London, Paris, Milan, Los Angeles and Miami, represents major models such as Abbey Lee, Anja Rubik, Arizona Muse, Malgosia Bela, Meghan Collison, Suvi Koponen and Zuzanna Bijoch, as well as male models Andrés Velencoso, David Agbodji, Jon Kortajarena, Marlon Teixeira, and Larry Scott. The agency also represents other talent, including Alexa Chung, Lana Del Rey, Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora and Lou Doillon. In 2011 it acquired the chef agency TwoTwelve Management, adding star chefs including Tom Colicchio, Geoffrey Zakarian, David Burke and Michael Symo to its roster.

Wow, successful courtship by Next. Intrigued if this will trigger a chain reaction at IMG.

Well Next could certainly use some strengthening. It will be interesting to see if some of those supers follow him.

even more important WHERE IS Paul Rowland now ?

despite the fact he has weirdly some kind of Genius reputation in some circle like this forum, the true fact is that he nrever did anything than creating huge debts to any agencie he has been.
So i think game is over for him, i dont see how any money backer would put even a single penny to hire him again.

Interesting information.... i thought he was very appreciated about his unique eye for talent and introducing them to the market... but yes, creating/leaving behind huge debts is damaging to his reputation. But cost cutting is something to be learned/monitored...so who knows ?

Louie Cheban has left Elite and gone to The Lions. Not surprised he'd do something like this. Jamie Bochart reportedly followed him. I'm assuming miss Russell is next along with some
others. What will happen to Elite now, can't imagine there's anyone that can come and help them out now.

I had posted Louie left Elite in November but tfs took down as rumor. Glad to see it now confirmed today.

Crikey, is there any agency LC hasn't been with? He's burned every agency he's been with. I give him two years before he joins Society.

Just curious, how does he burn them?

He comes in after a few years, or in Elite's case, one year, he leaves and when he does, he takes a whole bunch of girls with him. Of course, you can argue that all the girls that leave with him were girls he brought to the agency to begin with. But there are other girls who joined afterward who leave with him. You can also say he benefitted the agency in the time he was there by getting these girls like Karen, Jamie, etc. so what's to complain about that they're leaving with him. But I'll bet Ford, Elite (twice), DNA, and Women have a different perspective. When he left DNA, he took a gaggle of top girls with him as well as some bookers.

Interesting. Although there aren't that many top girls at Elite. Why is he always leaving and getting rehired? Is he a good a manager ?

But shuffling agencies practically apply to so many bookers. Some proposals are better than others and as you pointed out he's definitely not one to pass up the opportunity. The thing is he has enough influence to keep up so I don't see why he should be held back. Also, I don't think the Lions are stopping with Ali and him. I think there are more moving in with them.

I really don't think LC did that great a job at Elite. He brought a lot of girls with him and some other girls who weren't with him at Women left their agencies to be with him. But I think you can only go so far with that. The proof of a great booker is in developing new faces, and that didn't happen at Elite. He was a terrific booker at Women, DNA, Ford, and his first go-round at Elite. But the current Elite may not have had enough resources for him and he found it just wasn't that easy when you don't have an already strong agency with an already robust infrastructure to support you.

Exciting! They updated their website as well
I wonder if Ashleigh will switch to Ford Paris soon

Elite Paris has done a pretty good job for Ashleigh so I don't see it happening, but who knows. The Paris agency is headed by a former booker at Women Paris.

^ Does it mean that some faces from Women Paris will shift to Ford?
