US Vogue May 2016 : Taylor Swift by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

LOVE this.

This cover is fantastic! Finally, they figured out a way to make Taylor's hair actually look kinda cool. She's a natural model, as well, and I applaud the styling of the editorial. She looks fantastic!

It was absolutely an unexpected cover choice ... though now that it's happened, I feel like a bit of a fool, because it should have been more obvious. She just won her Grammy for album of the year, she just came off a tremendously successful world tour and, most obviously, she's co-hosting the MET Gala in a few weeks. So, yeah. Taylor makes sense as the cover model.

I think this will be her last cover for a while. She's nothing if not savvy regarding her career, so I'm sure she's aware that overexposure has set in and she needs to disappear for a while. She's probably ready for a break, as well, considering the amount of work she's put in to the last couple years.

It's like a loop of same Pop & Movie stars OVER, and OVER again, sigh!

Although at least this is an unexpected cover for them, so kudos for trying something new with her.

I completely agree with you - and I love Taylor. But Anna Wintour has lost her vision and needs to retire. She's got stale ideas and Vogue deserves someone who's more current with the times.

I bet she's a creature of habit in her private life, because she certainly is with her cover selections.

I like it. Finally something different.

I don´t like the cover. The styling and pose are awful imo and I can´t stand this girl anymore...
If only the shadows were more prominent, it wouldn´t look so fake. This look like a copy/paste background. The editorial pic against the same background looks better.

This is the FIRST ISSUE, with the magazine's NEW SIZE.

I say no to this idea. The size is not the problem!

Edit: Size will revert back to the old size in June, then be bigger again in September.

My OCD....

I'm totally meh about that girl. Anyway, she's co-chairing the MET ball next month, so it's no duh she would be on May's cover. Her hair has never looked better, great styling, they managed to make her look fresh and stylish, fitting for her age. She needs to hire that team on a permanent basis.

Waiting for the day magazines have models on their covers again, I'm passed bored w/ the constant cycle/recycle of celebs.

Sorry, she just doesn't do anything for me with this cover or edit. Trying too hard to be a model and it shows.

Oh no! Why are they changing the size? I feel your pain, I like all my magazines to be stacked neatly - I hate unnecessary, random changes like this.

The new size would be 9 x 10 7/8 inches, from 8 x 10 7/8

Ugh!!!!!!!! I hate that new bigger size. It doesn't make any sense to change the size of the magazine. Like LastNight said I like my magazine to line up neatly! That's why I have bought Elle. I hate that bigger (unnecessary size).

But again. Kudos to Vogue for slaying another cover.

Sounds like a gimmick to push newsstand sales.
Now when the guy at the newsstand displays 'Vogue', the masthead will stick up 1 inch above the other magazines.
That smacks of desperation.

Ironic that Vogue would try to do a new look by being exactly the same with the same celebs and the same tired everything.

The evolving of US Vogue into a cheesy celebrity tabloid is complete. Good job, Anna! :judge:

I don't think the masthead would stick up because it's not the height that was changed, it's the width. So basically, it's dimension is similar to that of Bazaar's :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I'm no fan of Taylor but looks so great and finally something different for VOGUE. My favorite pic is with the Marchesa dress

Well, derp?!
Haw, Ha!
Clearly my brain is not doing basic math today.
Thanks for the correction.

The cover is so awful only like tje hair of Taylor , tje editorial is repetitive and boring , i donf like see M&M is Vogue Usa because are very reperitive snd copy of others styles i hate , snd the perfect cover for this month arr Gigi & Zayn by Mario Testino

They've done their best, but you can tell Taylor and Mert&Marcus had no chemistry whatsoever.

The pose on the cover shot isn't very elegant or flattering... Having said that I quite like some shots from the edit. At least we get a real star on the cover with real credentials... I don't even dare to complain about celebrities anymore;-)))

Its beginning to look a lot like christmas........wait.......???????

Also Sorry but FALL CLOTHES in MAY!????????
