Vogue Paris May 2014 : Sophie Marceau by Mario Testino

I love that they use Gilles Bensimon, his editorials are the best part of the magazine.

Never been a Karlie fan (not that I dislike her either), but she looks gorgeous in her ed! Wonderful long tonned body! And I love pale complexion, but her sunkissed skin looks beyond beautiful!

i havent had an eye on a vogue paris in a long time. i mean a real, in-paper, magzine in my hands. i do think the tone has changed indeed.
alt has gone mad with some very spectacular-glitter-ish editorials. really thinking and styling out of her confort zone/box. very glamourish and glitter.... i mean everything i've seen of her is so disco lately.
anastasia is always doing a good work.

miss vogue is really the thing to keep an eye on, though. i think everything is good!

are joe mckenna? jane how? and stuff still in the magazine? i've read suzanne koller would perhaps be part of the adventure?

do we see a lot of claire dehlens?

oh and bensimon? ok. elle 90s is here. but i DO hope it doesnt mean no more hans freuer.... aint it?

^ Well, per this morning's news, one of Alt's first hires/constant sidekicks is leaving:

French Vogue Editor Said Heading to Maje

Rumor has it Capucine Safyurtlu, longtime fashion and market editor at French Vogue, is to exit the magazine and join Maje. It is understood she will work beside Maje founder and artistic director Judith Milgrom on style and image matters.

wwd

Capucine never styled anything of importance so I can't say I'm bothered. Excited to see what Suzanne will bring to the magazine come August.

Now may Alt be given the boot, amen...

Have any French subscriber received it yet?

^That's reassuring (I've had some delivery problems in the past, hmmm...), thank you!

I've just received it. The cover is not just orange, it's neon, seriously.

Got it this morning too, and the cover looks even worst "in the flesh"... :ninja:

Why do people keep mentioning the 2007 cover like it's some sort of masterpiece? It's baffling how short are people's memories when this particular magazine is concerned. No one particularly liked it when it came out, why the love now? Isn't it not very Elle anymore?

Yeah, whilst those covers aren't exactly masterpieces, they're evidently better than what we're getting nowadays. Plus, I think it's nice to reflect back on the good times during the bad times, no?

It's just beyond me why one of those shots from Marceau's story wasn't used for the cover instead (something along the lines of Laetita Casta's May 2012 cover). The one with her wearing the Burberry trench is nice. I also like the one with Sophie wearing the Ralph Lauren skirt but the hair doesn't do her justice in that particular shot. Nonetheless, any of those images would of been better than what we got. I prefer magazine covers in real as opposed to digital renditions but the sound of neon orange fails to excite me.

^ Haha I was going to bring up Les_Sucettes quote too, well believe me that cover from back in 2007 is a masterpiece compared to this rubbish produced  Anyway I'm losing interest fast, nothing I've seen in this thread interests me in the slightest. I will see what the next 3 issues bring.

Un week-end and Bronzage Culturel are what make this issue a worthy one in my opinion. Especially Jansson's editorial. It's just perfect. Each shot could pass as a Chloe campaign. :)
