A Model Life - TLC Reality TV Show

did anyone else tear up at last night's episode. petra's story is so heartbreaking

I recorded her on 60 Minutes back when she was first getting back into public life and I had to turn it off...It was heartbreaking...

they are "kicking someone off" because of unprofessional behavior. one of the models did something to cause all of the models to be late to a shoot/casting. there is probably more to it, but that is what i got from the preview

I think it is abby because: (well, maybe?)
a. she was wearing the red jacket and in the previews, there is a girl walking along on the sidewalk and I think it is Abby. And she looks nervous at the "meeting/talk".
b. She holds them up at the swimsuit shoot because she is afraid to do it (her running down the steps and the girls consouling her.) So maybe they are late for something after that or she is holding them up. And it can't be Beatrice because they showed that clip on purpose to get people to think she is going home, she is probably upset about the person going home instead.

My assumption.
(but in the first episode preview, he says the girl is miserable, so possibly Angelika, but maybe Abby for not wanting to do "sexy" shoots.

I really hope its Angelika

I don't like Abby as a model, but I like her on the show

I missed the last one and it seems like TLC never replays them! ARG!!!!!

^They will probably play last week's episode right before the new episode airs...that is what happened last week.

I basically just want to watch the fashionweek episode. But too bad you don't have tivo or dvr =( (? of if you do, you should tape it next time =). I wonder if they might have it up on youtube or something?

^Well I do have DVR but I didn't record it because I didn't know I was going to miss it. I also searched Youtube but they only had the old episodes up. :/

Angelika was sent home. I'm so upset. She was my favourite. Does anyone know Angelika's last name?

tonight's show was pretty interesting. They made a lot of the professionals look surprisingly bad -

the swimsuit designer throwing young girls into skimpy suits plus some other sketchy stuff

the hair / styling getting screwed up

the SI editor being late, changing things, brushing off that one model, etc

then at the end, the whole power play by the exec of getting rid of Angelika for speaking up.

The whole issue was overblown. I think the models understand about being on time, but there are six of them (plus camera crew) all having to go together. There were put in a tough situation. If a couple had gone ahead they might have gotten in trouble or maybe gotten the others in trouble.

^You just brought that to my attention...it's funny that they would show all of those professional people looking bad. And it makes you wonder if, had the girls that were ready on time gone ahead, would they have gotten scolded for leaving the others/only thinking for themselves? I thought it was good that once they did arrive, they didn't point fingers and said it was just a collective thing that they were all late. (I will say, though, that I'm not the least bit upset Angelika went home!)

Angelika is not professional at all. If she knows she has a responsibility to be on time, then why would she go shopping before she had a scheduled shoot? I cant believe she told the SI editor (or whoever she was) that she didnt like the bathing suit. I can see a top model who has a good working relationship with the editor doing that, but not someone at Angelika's level. She really showed no respect to her or to the NEXT guy

Good thing I tivoed this one =).
And guess what Angelika doesn't really do home. (She does fall fashion week,). But yes, she is really unprofessional and had some nerve telling him that well the designers/whoever are an hour late. Well guess what, she's not the designer, she's the "model". And at any job, like he said, you can't be late and modeling is no different plus like she's acting like she is better or had a resume or something, she has not done anything in nyc, and nyc is not LA. She's annoying and I wish he would have really sent her home but oh well, I guess he's (I don't want to say weak but was bs'ed into her bs talk) and let her stay because I would have made her pack her bags.

(I meant go home, up there (sp/error)

And also (I could start a thread, Angelika is annoying because... j/k :p)
But anyway,
She started to annoy me at the start of the show with bs talk about how the industry is a joke, blah blah, well really because she doesn't know anything about the industry (and no offence but LA fashion isn't big like nyc, milan, paris, etc., is.). She thinks she knows everything, she has an attitude, all the time, and if she really knew anything; she would know that you are selling the oufit and shouldn't ever tell the designer/whoever, that you hate it or it doesn't look good. A GREAT/ ACTUALL WORKING MODEL CAN MAKE A POTATO SACK LOOK GOOD. I think the 2nd suit looked better because she is flat chested and looked not so great in the other one (seeing as it was a bathingsuit shoot and wasn't for some high fashion type thing). She's too average looking and I can't see her walking runways with that attitude, it's annoying and unattractive.

lol, again im watching it during The Soup commercials, but damn, Angelika is a b*tch. "you might want to talk to the guy running the train". Ok, you don't talk to anyone like that, let alone someone who has the power to fire you

I gosh she said that. I thought she was late because she was roaming around the hotel, hmmm , nice lie to agency (like he believed her). Trains are late/too early all the time, that's why you leave a half hour early :D.

Are you kidding me that the real professionals looked bad?? Uh, these girls looked like a bunch of spoiled little tw*ts! Most of them should've been slapped. Ashley Paige is the only major swimwear designer that I've heard of and these girls were rude and disrespectful. Girls around the world would KILL for that opportunity and all they could do was whine and look at their nails when she and Petra were speaking? And they get to work with the editor of the SPORTS ILLUSTRATED swimsuit issue and they can't show a little respect? The director of SI and the head of NEXT have been working in the industry for decades and deserve respect. Sorry, but being late is never OK. It doesn't matter if the director of SI was 5 hours late, as a professional, you should be early and show up with a smile. These girls are not Naomi Campbell, and should be on time and ready to work, not complain.

The second thing I got from the episode was that Lucia's body is OH.MY.GOD

I'm a straight girl but seeing her in that bikini had me questioning my sexuality
