I didn't think I would watch this show. I saw descriptions in magazines and I saw the commercials. I knew Petra, whom I love, was the host. But tonight I was just flipping through the stations and stumbled on a repeat. I really love it. It's everything that America's Next Top Model is not although I don't think they should vote out a girl because her photoshoots blow when they have an idea of what they're best at and which type of modelling they would like to do. Anyway, I LOVE IT.

ITA with everything you said. I love Petra but thought this was going to be a Top Model rip-off, and IMHO, we don't need another Top Model. The girls on A Model Life look like real models and some of them are just stunningly gorgeous. I think it gives a better insight into the world of modeling than Top Model does too. I am absolutely addicted!

^^ Yup, I turned so against ANTM (and Tyra) after the first season or so, but this is actually interesting- and the fact that most of these girls have what it takes (instead of Top Model where almost none of them do!!) makes it much more realistic!!

I finally got a chance to watch the show last night. Thank god there's finally a show about models that seems realistic. I was so sick of ANTM and their ridiculous challenges and their airbrushed to hell "photoshoots" that look like Sketchers ads.

I really love Petra. She gives advice in a way that Tyra only wishes she could. She seems so genuine like she really wants them to succeed, whereas Tyra only uses her shows as an opportunity to talk about herself and her days as a "supermodel". Petra should get her own talk show even if she has a rather heavy accent.

I felt really bad for Beatrice (the Brazilian one?). She seems so young and lost. And the part where she couldn't figure out how to open the doors awww so cute. I thought her agents were really hard on her especially the female agent, it's almost like she's just doing it for the cameras.

Ugh Angelika. I think at one point she was referring to herself in the 3rd person like "Angelika knows who she is. Nobody's going to change Angelika". Can you imagine how she would talk if she actually became famous? She has a nice face but it does not photograph as well as she looks in real life.

^ Angelika really bothers me. But I guess there is always one in a cast that someone doesn't care for. I agree that Petra is really genuine. She doesn't brag about herself like Tyra does and the only time she really even talked about herself at all was when she was describing what happened to her during the tsunami. Tyra, on the other hand, just uses the show as an excuse to show pictures of herself and ham it up for the cameras.

I personally don't think Angelika has that model face. Nothing really stands out. Height doesn't make a model, there are lots of really, really tall girls in the world who I wouldn't tell to model. I don't know, I just don't see it, even more so now.

Angelika looks like every other cute girl on the street with that new hair. Her old hair looked a lot better and more "modelesque". Not that I mind, I don't want to see Angelika booking jobs

She must've been with vision first then switched over to next later on.

I really like Lucia. Not just because she seems to have the most likeable personality, but because her face is just.. unearthly. And I like a little bit of curve in the stick-thin-model world

I have to agree with the agents that while Angelika is difficult, she does bring it in front of the camera. However, she doesn't seem very versatile--just that same edgy bit.

Lucia looks like a doll in the first pictures from 141! She is absolutely stunning IMO...much more so than the other girls.

I've been out of town for the past few weeks so I've missed the show. I guess I'm staying in Friday night to catch up!!

Beatrice was in a Kohl's flier. I think she's really cute on the show, but she looks very run of the mill and commercial in the Kohl ads. Anyone know who's repping her in NYC?
