Boyfriend Jeans

Ouch, I've spent the entire day in town with my BF trying to get hold of the perfect boyfriend jeans, and I could not find a single pair that i liked...

And when we came home, I was like "let me try the ones you are wearing" and they were absolutely perfect! :woot: Just regular straightleg Levi's, they sat perfectly on my hips, loose but not too much. Man, now I can shop for us both. I just keep kicking myself for not trying his first, all that time in the shops feels like such a waste.

these jeans were already huge in italy last year

the best ones are levis 501s with very long crotch,
worn with small tops

aaahh I got some from express, they arent supposed to be boyfriend jeans but yknow how theres jeans for thin people, regular, and curvy, instead getting the thin for my body type, I got the regular fit instead, same effect as boyfriend jeans

I don't like the look eighter, esp. because all of my jeans look, not intentionally, like a 'boyfriend' style. Very annoying.

I normally just buy mens levi's or diesels in small sizes, the womens 'boyfriend' jeans just doesn't have quite the same effect imo. I think they're definitely quite sexy with a muscle vest or something and so much better than track pants or those extra baggy jeans that just doesn't flatter any shape.

there is another benefit to 'boyfriend jeans'...
they have a longer rise...( the zip doesn't go all the way down)
which is there to accomodates boys' bits...
but means that a girl will have extra room in the seat/hips...

sometimes this is a good thing...;)

i have levis 505's -thrift store on st mark's $20

but i had the legs taken in..
otherwise...
the legs being as wide as my hips makes my legs look like short tree stumps...
not a particulalry good look.....

having trouble deciding whether to wear them and how....
i def think they would have looked better several pounds ago...
have to say that they really do look best very oversized and hanging off the hips low...
no matter how much i try to convince myself otherwise...

:innocent:

I love boyfriend jeans, and just bought a pair of Levi's, they are supposed to be oversized, and they are made for girls. The seams in the legs are "bent" forward, and the legs are a bit tapered.
I have worn them in two different "styles", like pictured. Still not sure what is the best way to wear it. Any tips?

footwear is the biggest issue for me..
anything other than barefoot or flipflops just doesn't really work imo...
maybe ballet flats?...

i'd love to hear/see some other options as well...:flower:

it's a slouchy look...so i think it looks best SUPER casual...
most anything else will probably just come off as sloppy or ill-fitting...

but that seems really predictable....:ermm:...
kind of boring...

i dunno,
in italy the girls wear it with sneakers and sometimes heels (i hate the look tho)

"boyfriend jeans" over there are distressed, sometimes ripped, vintage. you can buy them in second hand markets.

they are worn very low rise.

some girls pull it off some dont.

It's hard to beat a t-shirt and Converse with the boyfriend jeans.

Predictable? Yes. Boring? Depends on the wearer's style! As your signature says... ;)

I have seen a lot of your footwear that I think would work great, including some of your boots and some of your more haute items...

The jeans look great on you!

IMO, those tops are too "nice" to wear with them; I would go for something simpler. For footwear, I think battered sneakers, scuffed shoes or boots would be perfect.

My two cents! :flower:

as tangerine noted earlier, and I definitely have to agree, though someone may thing converse with a tee is boring, I find it looks the best. Personally with my pair I will layer some tees or tanks and maybe even a zip-up (I have one that's tighter fitting and makes the look a little more feminine). But basically I like dressing down with these jeans...until the next day when I have to lay on my bed to zip up the skinnies lol ;)

i like how you wear them, they look best in the first pic (minus the flipflops)

i wear mine with just about anything, fave combs with open button mens vintage shirts in plain colour, like green, white or black which i half tuck in (slouch way) or with tight victorian-esque frilly shirts with open buttons to show just a tiny bit of bra, or with my new V-neck oversized metallic silver blouse which leaves one shoulder bare

they also look good with xtra tight t-shirts with or without sleeves

shoe wise, i pair them with flat or medium high espandrilles, old school Keds or beat up sneakers

I wear mine with ballet flats, I hate trainers and think heels would look a bit strange since they are so casual. The flip flops look really cooel.

I tend to wear fitted v neck tops with mine, or blouses with ribbon round the waist for a more feminine feel.

BohoChick, i like your first look:)
mostly i wear them with fitted/thight tees, tanktops, sometimes with some more transparent, ruffled blouses/shirts
and shoes - flip flops, T-strap flat sandals, converses, dr martens boots and chunky low heeled ankle boots...

i just wanna say its so not true that u gotta be tall and thin to wear this. i'm like 5"2 and had been wearing guy's jeans for the past few years. i loved it as its soooooooooo comfy. and i think mainly coz boy's jeans got longer crotch length. therefore the added bagginess around the hips and thigh area when we wear it? okay...i'm just rambling! hahaaha.

that's not what my sig says......

but anyway...
upon further consideration..
i have decided that this is something that is just not for me...
i think they looked best when i had very narrow hips (like a boy)..makes sense....
they always look good from behind...
but i don't like the way my curvy hips look in straight jeans...

so i am going back to swearing off jeans...:p
it may be fine for others...
but i feel like there is so much more to choose from that looks better on my figure...
so why would i compromise...?..

have fun in your slouchy jeans guys!...:flower:

Thanks for your answers to my question, good to get some feedback^_^
Last night I wore them with converse, and I felt that it was just right:heart:. But I also think I'm gonna try wearing them with a black, short fitted leather jacket, and a top/tee with converse or even black boots, to get a more rock'ish feel to it. Just to experiment.
Anyway, I love the slouchy feel, a nice change from the drainpipes!

Would you mind sharing the name of the style you bought? (I can't believe how much I like them!)
