Boyfriend Jeans

^ahh... that does seem to make sense. i dont' think i'm ready for the high waisted jeans yet though. they look nice on some people but i don't know... i think i'd get made fun of at school.

Bought some more boyfriend jeans from Topshop today. I love them as they are much comfier than skinny jeans and by dressing then up a bit with cute pumps and a more girlie top or blouse they look less tomboyish.
Plus I find the Topshop jeans are better for my figure as I have curves.

i like the ones at topshop , but now i want one with a higher rise like the ones kate moss were with those high heels , it looks soo bad *** yet casual and comfy.

Whats the difference between the ones that Kate Moss is wearing & boyfriend jeans? Im confused. I want high waist or ones that fit at the waist... is that boyfriend jeans? Are they straight leg or bootcut or are boyfriend jeans just a baggy jean of any kind?

^ If you read the whole thread, you will see that people have different definitions; I don't know if there is an objective definition.

I will repeat myself and say that my definition is a slouchy-fitting jean that hangs from the hips and falls straight from hip to knee. They can be straight or boot cut. The main thing is that they should look like you borrowed them from someone a little bigger than you. :flower:

I did read the whole thread & thats why I was confused.
Your last sentence helps alot. :flower:

Hey tiffany....i understand your confusion lemme explain ...first of all the jeans kate are wearing are not FLARES, flares are tight till the knee and flare out(ie BELL SHAPE ) . The are actually a wide leg straight boyfriend cut , meaning they are not clingy to the body and are like guys jeans meaning (NO STRETCH) . These type of jeans she is wearing are also known as PARALLELS , meaning they go straight down (NO BELLS and NO TAPER) . The rise of these jeans is higher but the come in all rises.

Tiffany, glad that last part helped!
Paul, I was just disagreeing that boyfriend jeans only look good on tall, slender women; I personally think they can look great on short, curvy women as well. My opinion, and I respect yours as well. :flower:

banana republic has a boyfriend jean (not sure if it's mentioned already, i didn't bother looking) now. denim is 20% off this weekend, so if you're a boyfriend jeans fan, i guess i'd say give them a whirl.

it's a very nice wash, but this cut would be a wreck on me.

Thanks Disco54 that helped too.

So is the girl in the brown suspenders here wearing boyfriend jeans? (pic from TFS suspenders thread).

*another tFS thread is not a proper credit, please see guidelines*

^I can't see the girl in brown suspenders, but if you are talking about the girl in denim and suspenders above from the Marc Jacobs show (post #124), I would call them sailor jeans...

imo, boyfriend jeans are those that could have belonged to a conventional boyfriend but are worned by you (therefore they hung on your waist and hips since those parts of the woman body are normally smaller than their boyfriends').

If you look at post #87 (by Boho Chick), THOSE are boyfirend jeans...

So Ive been reading through this thread again & Im really thinking that Levis 501s would be my best bet for boyfriend jeans. I had them when I was a kid & loved them so much. The site says to size up for a boyfriend fit... the thing is I have no clue what size I wear anymore & no place around here has the 501s. I dont get why its so hard to find them in the stores. I think they have them in mens but even the smallest mens would be huge on me. So I have no clue. Do you think I could maybe try on another style in Levis to find out what size I wear so I could order them or do the style sizes run different?

boyfriend jeans does NOT mean you wear an actual guys jeans, also to the contrary the rise varies , boyfriend jeans , have the NON stretch quality of a guy jeans but are made for girls. YES, THOSE ARE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF A GIRLS VERSION OF BF JEANS and they have the higher rise which is TOTALLY on trend. 501 jeans are not BF jeans , those are just guys jeans.

i have 501s they are ugly **** of crap i had to wear to school day in and day out for most of the 90s, highly unflattering and so boring, reminds me of billy ray cyrus
