Chanel S/S 2010 : Claudia, Freja & Baptiste by Karl Lagerfeld

I like the ads, but i'm a little bit tried to see Baptiste on the Chanel ads.

I'm in love with Freja's shot. Stunning. Now, if only Lagerfeld could drop Claudia from anything Chanel + print related. She does nothing for me here...again.

I love these! A totally different direction than the runway show; shows the versatility of the garments. Unexpected, but still tres Chanel.

hmm, i'm not too fond of the background of the first one. looks like the stairs of some very very cheap hotel the pose looks great though
about the second. well, agree with everybody who said heidi would have been better
overall imo the last ad campaign was way better. but i guess, we need to see more pics

I love the location. This, so far, seems way better than the last campaign. I'm glad he put Baptiste in the campaign cause he makes it more interesting IMO. Not fond of Claudia's shot, but let's hope the rest of her will be better. Freja is perfect as always in Chanel campaigns.

this is genius. i just don't know how he can continue to take it to the next level over and over again. who would've imagined this campaign based on that runway presentation?! it's so cinematic and also recalls for me the cinematography in that old madonna video "take a bow". effortlessly sexy and packed with backstory yet utterly fashionable.

the first one is so gorgeous. say what you will about Karl as a photographer, but he REALLY knows how to capture Freja's beauty. can't wait to see more (of Freja, Claudia i couldn't care less about)

I have mixed feelings about this campaign... on one hand I like the texture of the background, the "dirty" look is due to the fact that the shoot took place in San Telmo, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, built in the lates 1800´s. The hats are what rich owners of estancias used to wear (maybe they still do today, don´t know). So I feel like these elements fit right into the folky look of the collection. They also shoot in a estancia, wonder how that turned out...
On the other hand, I think why bother taking a crew and flying 13 hours just to shoot Claudia against a background that you could also found in Europe, even in Paris? There´s nothing there that you could say "it´s Buenos Aires, it can´t be anywhere else". I want to see more, I hope other locations are better...
Anyway, those were my two cents...

Freja is looking gorgeous here, same thing goes to Claudia and Baptiste really fits into this collection!

As much as I like Claudia I feel like this campaign could really do without her. She doesn't bring anything new or refreshing. And I don't even like Freja, but no one can deny that she's a great model.

I really dislike Chanel ads....because the collections are always so full of life and color...but the ads are always extremely drab. This season it was full of beautiful crochet dresses with colorful flowers, plenty of color....and this just looks a grey,black, white blob. Last season the same, it was full of white, jade green and pastel pink, but somehow that translated into B/W ads. And don't even get me started on the S/S 08 campaing....star prints, navy blue, red, whites and it was a b/w ad? Really?????
