Chloé F/W 09.10 Paris

I prefer Paolo's designs for Chloe, but this collection isn't bad. I like color palette and light fabrics.

I think that this is a brilliant collection. I loovee the flowing pleated chiffons!

And the hair and make up is ahhh!!! stunning  Looks like a good way to go

What is up with this woman? Such a hideous collection! Some outfits, like the ones on Kasia, Marina and Sigrid's final dress are good, but all I see are some rip-offs from previous collections. I would be great she took some references, but this is like presenting the collections again.

What is going on?! At least Paolo did a nice work for the Chloé woman rather than just pretty, boring and forgettable clothes for the Chloé girl.

I rather like the collection - it's certainly better than her first  I think it's quite Chloé and the colours are really nice.

i think this collection is so good!
the one dress on anna j though is really bad.
chole too me has always been an excellent and stylish house,
and this is no different.

Yes, I agree this collection is better than ss09 but i really miss Paulo. I love his collections....
F/w 09 season is season of quotation. Every designer tries to copy last season looks. So boring.....

I much prefer this to what Paolo was doing, but it's far from perfect. The hair and makeup are great, as are the palette and the textures. But seriously, some of those looks just don't work at all, from a fit-and-figure point of view. She needs to pare down some of her ideas a bit more. I'm not convinced she is a great dresser of the female body.

That said, my favorite look is the gold pants tucked into gold boots topped with a black jacket with gold baroque detailing. And I'd die for the beige chiffon asymmetrical top with bows, tucked into black velvet trousers. Those two looks scream Chloe and should have been the basis for an ultra-chic, Parisian, feminine show. The rest is kind of lost in the layers.

Yes, that's my favourite look, too - gorgeous! :D

I also really like the ruffle neck blouse and velvet jacket combo and the striped coat.

I agree that, on the whole, the more feminine and/or romantic looks/pieces work best, though.

This collection is really bringing the essence of Chloe back into the label. The feminine blouse, some very flattering men- inspired pants ( minus all those huge balooning harem pants of course) and those gorgeous looking camel coats. How about the bags?

seriously how could someone still dare saying 'the essence' of chloé when chloé has been mishmashed by so many designers ...
Karl Lagerfeld, Martine Sitbon, Stella McCartney, Phoebe Philo (when, let's be frank, everybody talking here really started paying attention to Chloé) and then Paolo and now a new english blond girl .....
and I'm sure I've lost some names in this list ....

It's almost an archeological work to know what is the essence of Chloé ...
:ninja:

I like the neutral colors and the dress in post 1 was fab. Reminds me of gypsies.

Actually, no, not everyone here.

I started paying attention to Chloe as a child, in about 1981, when Karl Lagerfeld was still designing; I used to see it in my mum's magazines.

She didn't like Chloe much - she preferred more androgynous looks, on the whole, but I always liked it.

Also, disco remembers Chloe from the '70s, I believe.

BTW, is there really any need to describe Hannah as just; 'a new English blond girl'? That's insulting on at least two levels, IMO.

I find those shapes terribly terribly unflattering! Anyway there are some nice outfits , i liked those in bw specially and some dresses are fine...but PLEASE bring philo back!!!

that is one large bag...

I'm liking some of it so far...

No doubt  What couldn't you fit in there ... I definitely like some of it too, and some of the details remind me of the old Chloe (that is, Phoebe's Chloe).

that's how his own boss has described Stella, Phoebe and is now describing her ....
and no it's not insulting ... it's just a fact ...

* just saying *

:innocent:

That's interesting you're saying you paid attention of Chloé in some fashion magazines of the early 80s ... Because when I look at the collection that's how I feel ... Looking back at some vintage magazines (and I love this kind of styling !) ... But I'm not sure this is really good for now ...
Is it ? It seems you love the collection ... But don't you think so ? that she is looking back in the past and not 'making it now' ?

I think what have done Stella with Chloé was much more interesting ... She had this same stuff for past but made it look more actual ...
I always remember this quote when she says (it was for this collection where Esther Canadas opened and there was Gisele and Esther de Jong ... well all the girls from the 90s and they had lace tunique over jeans ... some cowboy looks etc.) anyway ... she said "most of the models told me their grandmother used to wear that ...but they all loved it, because it's now !" ... well i don't feel that here ... i don't feel it's NOW ...

Hm, I like it better than last season, but I still find this new designer's work rather bland. And I noticed that a lot of the looks made the girls appear wider, so they probably will not be flattering to us non-models.

I MISS PAULO!! :(
