Chloe S/S 08 Paris

I LOVE what I'm seeing so far! He's taking Chloe into a whole new direction with this collection.

I would have liked it if he kept some Chloe elements to it, but it looks promising!

It's better than last season's collection but I'm disappointed.

I miss Phoebe. :(

gorgeous stuff! i loved last season's show but there seems to be something off about this one... or maybe its just all those pissed comments :judge:

anyway design-wise, i think the collection's quite interesting ^_^ the way he's using asymmetrical patchwork, the many layers, exposed edges for texture, and just the way things drape over the body by hanging from a tie or something
i think someone interested in design could learn a lot from Paulo's work
I agree, Gius. The collection may not have the most groundbreaking shapes or the usual cheesiness of Phoebe and Stella but I think it's gorgeous in every way, especially in the details you mention.. it's funny how the techniques used here are so similar to those of the S/S 07 collection yet the result is completely different but both are still very Chloé in their own period of time.
I like this, it's easy and it has all the required S/S 08 trends that sooner or later everyone will succumb to. sales certainly won't be a headache here. :innocent:

I love the accessories:rolleyes::heart: the shoes and the bags are brilliant !

It's def. different from Phoebe Philo's Chloe, but isn't Theysken's Ricci vastly different from Nillson's Ricci? I guess thats not a fair comparison because Nillson was never critically celebrated but my point is designers aren't hired to a new house just so they can emulate the people who came before them.. Isn't that what got Facchinetti canned at Gucci.

Anyway I like this collection.

there seems to be a shift away from the 'girls who dress for other girls/themselves' aesthetic into something more general, a male eye, certainly. this transition will take some time, chloe under philo wasn't always attractive but was certainly always quirky, charming/cool...i dont know if these two girls would be friends, you know what i mean? they're from different sides of the track.

I think this is strong, very springy, fresh and cheerful. the knots, necklines, hemlines and the blocks of color are clever. its frivolous and fun; the plaid cropped pants are sweet and I like some of the loose tunics. the shoes seems stiff and awkward but their just not my style of shoe. the man understands how colors bounce off each other and which is why it has a sense of continuity. good for him.

buy vintage if you're looking for old style Chloe, he wasn't hired to do status quo.

Last season's Chloe was so badly bashed on tfs, yet net-a-porter and Barney's are now featuring it in a big way, and it's influenced a number of SS08 collections, from COS to Martine Sitbon. No one complained that it wasn't gorgeous, just that it wasn't "Chloe"! Well, when Nicholas G started at Balenciaga with the surreal frills and feathers, it wasn't Balenciaga either. Or Galliano's early days at Dior. Or Mccartney at Chloe. I'd rather judge the designer by his/her talent than by some idea of a particular "style" the house is supposed to produce into infinity.

AMEN.
