Never heard the Laura rumour, and I doubt it would happen, she hasn't even walked Prada, never.
I'm hoping that if there should be more girls, I would be Ymre Stiekema or Daria Strokous.

Whether or not, i'm pleasantly surprised by the casting anyway. Nice to see another mix of seasoned and new models, just like last season. They've also selected the right new girls for this campaign. One might say that Madison is too pretty for Prada, but so is Anne Vyalitsyna. It all works out very nicely. Good job Ashley, Meisel and Miuccia.

Why does Meisel has to have 8-10 girls in a campaign? No, 6 girls for Prada is more than enough. He will ruin the exclusivity of the major campaigns.

Ymre was rumoured (but i also remember some tweets about being dissapointed and that she had to wait and stuff, could also has nothing to do with this though), but there was a guy who thought Ymre was in it, but that one doesn't know models very well so maybe mistake Ymre with Anne V? Thairine was also rumoured, but maybe there are more girls, you never know.
Laura K also? Mmm, never heard that rumour?

Didn't the rumour about Laura K. start after her tweet about colourful eyebrows which might have matched the colours of the collection? I remember people suspecting she could get Prada when orange and purple were mentioned.

But Valerija's Versace campaign was MG and by Testino. Elza's is only girl and was by Mert and Marcus who have a lot more influence.

Mert & Marcus have more influence than Testino? In what lopsided pocket of an alternate universe ? They may shoot more campaigns than him at the moment, but IDT that M&M are on a level where they have the royals on speed dial, right.

I don't want to turn this into an anti-Elza talk (although I do find her to be a blander version of Kamila Filipcikova (which says a lot)), but the guerrilla newbie casting for ads like LV, Prada (and not doubt Balenciaga to come) makes me wonder if the whole prestige of being shot for one of these ads has a counterproductive effect to the one intended. It will be interesting to see which of these girls is still around in a year.

Not getting a campaign seems to be the new getting a campaign then?

I agree with your statement about LV, Prada and Balenciaga. I don't know what Meisel's problem is. It almost seems like he wants to mock these new models by putting them in these overcrowded campaigns. I mean LV 10 new girls, really? Balenciaga 6 new girls, really? At least Prada has some seasoned models.
These campaigns do nothing for certain girls, only look at Getrud Hegelund or Nyasha Matonhodze.

Ymre again? I don't think so, she got the SS campaign. Prada doesn't tend to repeat models sequentially (or am I not right?)

i used to love prada campaign for all its prestige but now not so much. it gets way too much attention that i dont think it deserves.

how many girls get a career out of a prada campaign these days? pretty much like none. i just wish people gave more attention to other campaigns.

Yeah, I think the casting of this season and last season were done purely by the models who walked the runway shows. And she also mixed new models with regular models (With the exception of Natasha, this was simply her first Prada Campaign).

I think we're past that point already, it's a new face lucky dip. Gucci, Chanel, Versace, YSL etc. are the real exclusive campaigns for new faces.

Now, as far as Elza goes, I can't think of any currently like her. You can tick off a list of blondes who are popular right now, but none of them have her intensity both in print or on a runway. I don't think she's going anywhere for a long time to come. She completely dominated the hell out of her shot, I feel a little bad for Vanessa who I also like, as she got owned.

i think Juliane Gruner has a similar look and, well.. she has a model twin
also it's impossible to not dominate a shot where she's taking like 70% of the frame and the other model is far in the background, isn't it?
i honestly don't see anything special or striking in Elza, it obviously seems that the industry thinks different though

what about Zuzanna, Arizona, Sigrid, Kendra, Nimue, Katryn K, Antonia W or Kelly M?
it's true that they have lost some prestige but they still do a lot for some models' career..
