Not my favorite Gucci collection but I quite like this collection it feels a little like Spring though, but I love how different it is from what Frida usually does

Everyone swapped places during these fashion weeks, what the hell?
Gucci's turned into Cavalli this season.
I like some of the furs, but the rest is a bit.. can't really describe it so i'll just say - blah.

I think I like this collection even if it's been done before & it's not exactly super-original. It still to some extent appeals to me aesthetically. I love Lily, Natasha & Abbey Lee's looks in particular.

I doubt it...highly. Yes Tom hired Frida, but you have to remember that Tom's aesthetic and image was quite strong so it was impossible for her to do something out of line of luxury. Now that she took over, it was obvious it was her goal to kick all Fordism out and do her own thing...but never came up with a plan for redevelopment.

These days, Giannini is keen to avoid any comparison with Tom Ford, but it's still a pertinent point - Ford cast an incredibly long shadow, and reviews of Gucci collections remain peppered with references to the debonair branding mastermind. ^^the problem is (in my opinion) that the gucci woman didnt need to be redefined. everybody knew what she looked like. she was the sexiest woman, and now Gianini calls her the Gucci "girl" (style.com video)

i love this collection, just as much as i've liked past seasons... i just think she should either do this for her own label or someone else's, not gucci.

agree. every designer that is hired to succeed another designer at a label has the same exact problem. see paolo melim andersson with chloe. he had some big shoes to fill (p.philo), and managed to give the house a completely new vision keeping the chloe' quirkiness. that's what I expect with giannini. I want her to give us her vision, but keeping it coherent with the Gucci undercurrent. her collections are all over the place!!! no vision, no common ground anywhere, no Frida trademark...
