You have no idea how much I twist and turn that there are no HandM's in ohio.

ditto.
no h&m in texas, either.

Just got back from the H&M in Soho near Spring (NYC)

Loved the pieces but was afraid to buy - even if it was from Karl.

The idea is great for Karl and the suits and investors at H&M, but for me, personally, I did not want to be a fashion victim ( ok.... a total victim - I purchased the Blackdouble breasted coat- It looked FABULOUS on me :P

I appreciate the exclusivity of his main lines (Chanel, Lagerfeld, Fendi...) and did not want every Jane, Julie and Bobby Sue knowing that my look was from KL for H&M  .
It was just too common for my personal taste.
(EX: There was a huge crowd around the tops with the black and white stripes came in v-neck and turtle-neck  - they were lovely- but i just couldnt deal :wacko
:

Be true to yourself- follow your own beat!!!!

I took some pics of what I got.. obviously I won't wear 'em nekkid like that, but black is hard to photograph and shows okay against skin..

In the first one, I am wearing a black shirt underneath.. it's seethru and I don't need to show everyone that much

Chiffon dress...

hm2.jpg

Skirt.. it's pleated, doesn't show very well on the pic.

hm3.jpg

Blazer.. just beautiful, nice zigzag stitching along the ribs, silver chain closure (they come with two extra incase you lose it as wel)

Also got the tuxedo shirt but that one's all over the ads, you know what that one looks like and teh pic didn't come out well.. no detail.

I understand that. I'm still building a wardrobe and don't have a lot of money to spend on couture.. so a couple of pieces, not worn head to toe, I think is not putting me at fashion victim status..

Yes yes... Acid the cardigan is lovely. I went to H&M today and it was total madness. There was a little designated section in H&M for the Lagerfeld line and everyone was in that section... the entire store was deserted except for that tiny section, people were literally swarming and treading on eachother. People were just grabbing things, I even overheard some girl saying that she was buying as much as she could and returning whatever she didn't want because she didn't want to wait for a change room. LOL. But in general, I was really disappointed in the clothes. Especially the men's blazers! They were all single buttoned. UGH! It looked like a throwback to the '80's. I saw a white non-Karl Blazer for half the price that looked MUCH MUCH better. Anyone know what I'm talking about? And what's wrong with the ties? It would've been awesome without that little metal decal.

I went all the way up there today, just in case, and it was totally what I expected.
Basic junk, really... I saw one nice black, lacy babydoll dress on a mannequin, but I don't even know whether it was for sale. The stuff that was on the racks was a lot of black, black and more black. Not too expensive, but not worth it either. They were also selling a rack of rimmed glasses in his style. Kind of funny, but I was not impressed overall.

Actually Eastend, the pieces you chose looked great on you :flower: . At the end of the day, that is what matter.
Also, I trust you will do KL proud- to mix- and matching the piece youve coveted, so that you do not resemble a victim.
To each his own.

eastend you look fab! Love the pieces you chose and they look great on your body

Thank you both  I appreciate it.. looking fashionable without breaking the bank is hard and it's just so nice to find well tailored pieces at a decent price once in a blue moon. I kind of built up my wardrobe backwards.. lots of crazy pieces and not much basic stuff to pull them together, so this stuff was perfect for me at the moment.

This is the pleated blouse that i bought

Sorry the photos didn't come out very well, I'll try and get some better ones.

I was also disapointed with the sizing, they didn't even do my size in the collection so i had to settle for the size above, but it looks ok with the blouse being a lil loose

Holy cow! Ms.D! You look great! When did you grow the hair out? Where's your Marylin piercing?

PS--great top too

Diroella, I want that blouse really fn bad. I wish I lived near an H&M.
