Law enforcement sources tell us ... Lohan's girlfriend filed a report with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department between 9:30 and 10:00 PM tonight ... claiming they got into an argument that turned physical ... and she had some visible marking from the alleged incident.

Cops went out and tracked down Lohan -- and arrested him on suspicion of domestic violence.

We're told Lohan was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked for a medical condition unrelated to the alleged attack ... but afterward, he'll be taken to a Sheriff's station to be booked.

Story developing.

Say goodbye to whatever little hope is left for your career, Lindsay...Convicted felon with several jail terms and (failed) rehabs on 3 YEARS of shaky probation?? Who the hell would hire her? She could be locked up for years on any given day...:(

Lindsay Lohan -- The Perils of a Plea Bargain

3/22/2011 by TMZ Staff

Lindsay Lohan is rolling the dice, whether she plea bargains her grand theft case or goes to trial, because even if she cops a plea, the judge could still throw the book at her.

TMZ broke the story ... Judge Keith Schwartz has indicated he would give Lindsay 3 months in jail if she cops a plea. That sentence translates to 19 days because of jail overcrowding.

But sources connected with the case tell TMZ ... Judge Schwartz reserved the right to change the sentence depending on the evidence that surfaces during Friday's hearing. And here's the bad news for Lindsay.

-- We've learned prosecutor Danette Meyers -- who is asking for 6 months in jail -- will argue Lindsay's performance on probation has been "unsatisfactory." She has missed AA meetings, gone to class with tea laced with alcohol and missed court appearances.

-- As TMZ reported on February 9, Meyers will allege Lindsay has a history of stealing -- a $12,000 mink coat in 2008, a $400,000 necklace in 2009, and a $35,000 Rolex in 2010.

-- The judge will read and consider Lindsay's probation report. As TMZ first reported, there is information in that report which is extremely damaging to Lindsay, and could impact her sentence.

If the judge feels Lindsay's conduct is worse than he thought when he met with Shawn Holley a few weeks ago, he could up the sentence ... possibly to 6 months.

And here's the biggest problem for Lindsay. If she accepts the plea, Schwartz will place Lindsay on 3 years probation. And what are the chances Lindsay Lohan can stay out of trouble for 3 years?

Michael Lohan Allegedly Viciously Attacks Kate Major

3/22/2011 by TMZ Staff

TMZ now knows why Michael Lohan was arrested Monday night on domestic violence charges ... and it involves his ex-girlfriend, Kate Major ... and it appears there was a violent confrontation.

Michael went to his apartment last night -- the one he shared with Kate. She hasn't lived there for a while and she had dropped by to pick up some of her stuff.

We're told Michael became upset that Kate was packing up for good, and "went ballistic." They started arguing, and Kate turned her back on him. She told cops, Michael then grabbed her and threw her across the room. Kate says she struck the bedpost with her left shoulder.

Kate claims she threatened to call the cops, and then Michael allegedly took a towel and began choking her. She also claims Michael then threatened to cut himself with a razor blade and tell cops she did it -- if she called police.

Kate went to the Sheriff's sub-station, where cops photographed what we're told are "visible injuries."

TMZ broke the story ... Michael was arrested and booked on inflicting corporal injury on a co-habitant, false imprisonment, and preventing the report of victimization -- all felony charges.

Michael complained of chest pains after the incident and is currently in the hospital.

^ But what about Dina! How dare they both try and take the spotlight with felony charges.

Dina tries to get some attention the only way she knows how - threatening lawsuits and talking about Lindsay.

Dina Lohan called into Rollin’ this morning to give Nick the details on Lindsay Lohan‘s plea bargain for her felony grand theft charges.

The Lindsay Lohan saga with Venice jewelry store Kamofie & Company has been going on for weeks. With time more evidence gets revealed and more drama builds.

Dina Lohan called in this morning to update us on what she calls a “celebrity mess.” Though the family is still not 100% on whether or not they will accept the plea bargain, they do know they will have a very strong case against Kamofie & Company.

The Venice jewelry store accused LiLo of walking out of their shop on January 22nd wearing the one of a kind diamond necklace valued at $2500. LiLo claims it was a loaner and totes intended on bring it back the next day, but just couldn’t find time in her busy schedule.

It’s been a whirlwind ever since. Lindsay has been told by Judge Schwartz that jail time is certainly in her future. If she pleads not guilty on Friday, she will be locked up for violating her probation. If she accepts the plea bargain, she could spend a minimum of 60 days in the clink.

But Dina and Lindsay both feel she has a very strong case. The tapes released appear to show that Lindsay didn’t attempt to steal the one of a kind necklace and the girl helping LiLo out was well aware of what was going on.

The jewelry store hasn’t done itself any favors either. It appears they might be going after Lindsay strictly for the publicity. Kamofie & Company plan on auctioning off the necklace after this matter is taken care of and giving the proceeds to charity. They even tried pushing the story to get a book deal.

Regardless of what goes down on Friday, Dina informed Nick that they will be going after Kamofie & Company. I’m sure the Lohan‘s have lawyers on retainer at this point. If you got ‘em, you might as well use ‘em!

but theres really nothing for the lohans to go "after" except MAYBE the surveillance footage, and thats something some arbitration lawyers would work out & it would be split more heavily towards the jewelry store.

the necklace is the store's property and they can do what they like with it after the case is resolved.

^^ But Dina and Lindsay both feel she has a very strong case.

Do people with 'strong cases' often accept a plea deal for a felony with guaranteed jail time?? I'd say that doesn't make any sense, but then we are dealing with Lindsay and Dina, so...

What ever happened with her role in the movie Inferno? I haven't heard that get a mention now for months. Has Dina stepped in and taken over?

I thought Inferno dropped her. Kind of sucks, especially after the production co. made all that hoo ha about definitely not dropping her. I think they only got her on board to see if it would help drum up some better funding. :innocent:

^ Inferno isn't even on IMDBs list of pre-production films...Maybe without Lindsay, they had to shut it down... *and invested whatever money they actually did have in something sensible like a strip club...*

That seems more likely. Strip clubs are always wise financial endeavors.

Oooh. Paz de la Huerta is also on the roll for it.

Wow!! Of course, she has nothing new to 'show' after "Boardwalk Empire"B)
I can't understand why this would be a good movie project- what a degrading, depressing story to start with...I can almost understand Lindsay wanting to be in it since she didn't exactly have dozens of film offers at the time, but Malin and Paz? Reminds me of 'Star 80'- how depressing...

Do "real" celebrities refer to themselves as celebrities?

Is celebrity transferred by electricity? Like, is Tom Cruise's mom a celebrity?

And, uhh, Dino ..... you don't "have a case against" the victim in criminal court.

I wonder what kind of legal strategy Dino would employ if she had to do the time???

She seems quite willing to risk her daughter's freedom.

That, ... and the money. :innocent:

D DAY!!! :woot:

Deadline arrives for Lindsay Lohan plea deal

By the CNN Wire Staff

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Lindsay Lohan must decide Wednesday if she will accept a plea deal that would send her to jail for a jewelry store theft.
Lohan can also refuse the plea deal and demand a trial on the felony grand theft charge.
Lohan would return to Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday if she is ready to plead guilty or no contest to the charge, court officials have said. Otherwise, a preliminary hearing will be held in April, officials said.
The actress is accused of walking out with a $2,500 necklace from Kamofie and Company, a jewelry store in Venice, California, on January 22.
She faces possible jail time for violating her probation for a drunk driving arrest because of the theft charge.
The penalty for a felony grand theft conviction ranges from 16 months to three years in a California state prison. The exact term would be based on the value of the property stolen and the criminal record of the defendant.
Shoplifting offenses are charged as petty theft if the property taken is valued at less than $950. The store owner claims the "one of a kind" necklace is worth $2,500, police said
