Lindsay Lohan was scheduled to begin her community service at the Downtown Women's Center on Skid Row in Los Angeles, however the 24-year-old starlet was a no-show this morning.
An X17 reporter at the Downtown Women's Center spoke with an employee who tells us:
"Now that she's late for her service this morning, we're not going to let her in. If you're not on time, you must reschedule your service."
Judge Stephanie Sautner ordered that Lilo serve 360 hours of community service at the DWC. The center's executive director, Lisa Watson, opened up about Lindsay's community service plans. Read what she had to say ... after the jump.

Lindsay Lohan has shown that she is not going to let her legal woes get in the way of a good time.
The 24-year-old actress was out until 1am this morning just hours after having a community service meeting.
She was dropped off at Chateau Marmont by her assistant but later left with 90210 actress Shenae Grimes and seemed to be in high spirits.

Lindsay Lohan is poised to avoid jail entirely, despite her 120-day sentence ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ broke the story ... Lindsay will plead no contest to misdemeanor theft, and it's likely the judge will not increase the 120 day sentence -- in other words, once she serves the 120 days, she's home free.

Now here's the twist. TMZ has checked with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department -- which runs the jail where Lindsay must serve her sentence. We're told for non-violent, misdemeanor offenses, the Sheriff's Department routinely allows inmates to serve their time at home, provided they wear an electronic monitoring device.

We're also told the L.A. County Probation Dept. is down with non-violent, misdemeanor offenders serving time at home.

Judge Stephanie Sautner has made it clear -- Lindsay will be treated just like any other defendant, and people in Lindsay's shoes simply don't get put behind bars.

Ironic, isn't it. She's accused of stealing a necklace, and a bracelet will set her free.

Lindsay Lohan Turns To Scientology? John Travolta lands another celebrity...

How they manage to do it is beyond Entertainmentwise, but the Church of Scientology seems to have claimed another celebrity, this time in the form of Lindsay Lohan.

LiLo, whose recent life has resembled a never-ending train wreck, has reportedly been recruited by John Travolta, a firm believer in the bizarre teachings of L. Ron Hubbard, who has suggested that a good dose of religion might cure her of her ills.

The 57-year-old is believed to have dished out this well-intentioned, if utterly hopeless, advice after the pair signed on to star in the mafia biopic Gotti: Three Generations, with Travolta telling producers that he would take Lindsay "under his wing."

An insider told The National Enquirer: "Even though producers were hesitant to hire Lindsay because of her troubled past. Travolta assured them he'd take her under his wing.

"He feels confident he'll be able to keep her on the straight and narrow … now and forever."

LiLo has apparantly agreed to attend a Church of Scientology induction course, with the source adding: "John introduced Lindsay to one of the church's top counsellors and – even though she's been cast in a new role and won't play the star's daughter in the flick – she's assured him she'll still attend the series of induction classes that will make her a Scientologist."

If she does end up joining the cult, Lohan will be in the company of Hollywood stars, such as Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes - perhaps its most famous members.

Lindsay Lohan is NOT joining the Church of Scientology ... TMZ has learned -- despite reports claiming John Travolta was trying to indoctrinate the actress into his religion.

Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ, the actress has no plans whatsoever to become a Scientologist -- she hasn't taken any classes with the Church ... and hasn't even been asked to visit by current members.

We're told Lindsay has nothing against the Church -- but she was raised Catholic and plans to stay Catholic ... in fact, she remains an avid practitioner to this day.

Lindsay Lohan will almost certainly avoid jail when she's sentenced Wednesday for misdemeanor theft, but there's a war brewing over how much time she'll be locked up at home.
TMZ broke the story ... Lindsay will not have to serve more than the 120-day sentence for the probation violation. Sources in the Sheriff's Department have told TMZ ... based on all the good time credits inmates get, as well as discounted time for jail overcrowding, Lindsay would only have to serve roughly 14 days and she'd be good to go.

But now L..A. County SpokespersonSteve Whitmore tells TMZ ... based on what the Department has done in the past, Lindsay may not get the credit jail inmates get based on overcrowding. Short story -- for a 120-day sentence, without giving Lindsay the overcrowding credit, she'd have to serve roughly 84 DAYS.

Sources connected with the case tell us ... Lindsay would still get her 36 days credit for good time, but that means she couldn't leave her home for 84 days.

Good news ... she can almost see the ocean
