Robert De Niro, Jonah Hill signed for Robert Rodriguez's 'Machete'?

Web rumors have been circulating online today about Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jonah Hill joining Robert Rodriguez’s Machete feature. According to an exec at Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios, they are not true. "I don’t know where they’re coming from with that," says Eleonora Avellan, who tells EW that the project -- based on a fake trailer (embedded below, NSFW) about a Mexican mercenary in 2007’s Grindhouse -- is slated for 2010. "We’re still in development. Robert is working on the screenplay now."
But an inside source involved with the project also spoke to EW today and claimed that De Niro, Hill, and Rodriguez are actually involved, in addition to Lindsay Lohan and Steven Seagal.
The one bit of casting that does seem certain is star Danny Trejo, of whom even Avellan says, “Without him, I don’t think there’s a Machete.”
