Project Runway Season Four

From ohnotheydidnt:

LevisStore.com has put the Levi's 501 Jeans challenge winner from Project Runway up for sale. Ricky, a women's lingerie designer, was the teary-eyed challenge winner on last night's episode of Project Runway. You can buy the item here for $168. Proceeds from the sales will benefit YouthAIDS. The item listing says there will be limited inventory.
The Project Runway winner you've seen on TV. We challenged designers to create a new look using Levi's 501 jeans and Trucker jacket, capturing the originality and spirit of the originals. This strapless dress has curvy, jean-style seaming, a seven-button placket, and stretches to fit. Invisible back zipper. Proceeds benefit YouthAIDS. Due to limited inventory, item may not be available for exchange.
Ricky said in an interview with Bravo that the win really took him by surprise.
Were you surprised when the judges had all positive feedback for you?

I was so shocked to hear them say something good about what I had done ... surprised ....

You say at one point that you don't think the judges will like your garment, but you don't care -- was that true?

I was at the point in the game that I started to not care what the judges had to say about my work, so I truly didn't think I cared what they had to say. I guess I was wrong.

You won! What was your confidence level like after this challenge?

To those who can understand: Remember the feeling of never doing anything quite right ... in front of all your peers ... are told it's not good enough? Then on the day you least expect it you do something so right and it takes you by complete surprise. I was on a high and was ready for whatever challenge came!

Christian was super bitchy in the last ep...toward Chris and Ricky...

I have a question
when you see the designers working on their projects
they get to a stage where you can see like black tape or something
on their dressmaker form
What is that for?
I sew alot but I never learned the right way to sew
so I was wondering what this step was all about
I couldnt find better pictures than just this
but I think you can understnad what I mean

see you can see the forms in the background with the tape stuff

Seriously. Let's see:

Plus he uses the same color pallette pretty much all the time:

I personally prefer Rami's "same old same old" stuff to Christian's, especially since Rami actually didn't drape as much as I though going through the episode galleries.

Thanks for that! :flower:
I completely agree he seems to be a one trick pony.
I actually said to myself when he said if he saw one more tube dress he'd die...
that if he made one more big shouldered jacket I'd die.

Would you be able to do the same with Rami's designs?
If it's not too much trouble.

Sure :) (I have a lot of free time :p)

Wow. You are fast!!!

I can't give you karma again but thanks so much dear!!
You are right, there is only draping in 3 out of 9 looks.

I loved his look for the Bitten challenge and think he did great for the former plus size challenge as well. Of course the judges did not agree.

He had the most awful model at first though. I don't think she wore things well.
Glad he got to switch to the redhead.

I think his candy dress is one of, if not the best thing made this season.

The redheaded model is so pretty.

Anyway, thanks for posting these, xmodel_citizen. It's nice to see comparisons.

Christian makes me laugh every week and I really like the way he works. I do like Jillian too. This has been a fun season!

I think Heidi has a pair with same designs as the jeans that Christian made for this challenge. I actually think he made her a pair. She was wearing them on Ellen. I actually really like those Jeans. I knew the judges didn't like Chris dress but I really liked it.

Thats called style tape or twill tape, though I'm sure there are tons of other names for it.

Basically it's a blueprint or map of the garment for when you're draping a pattern. You trace and cut on the lines made by the tape for things like necklines, waistbands, panels, yokes, or even seams if they don't fall on the lines built into the dress form.

Hope that explains it.

Next episode...if you really don't want to know, don't watch Bravo because they give away the challenge purposefully (why, I don't know) in the commercials for the next episode...anyway...the designers have to design an outfit for WWF female wrestlers:sick:

^^

Wow, I WISH PR was that entertaining this season! And I wish Christian was half as fierce as Fausto Bonadventure ^_^

I can just hear Christian now, " This is so not fashion!"

^LMAO, that is too funny. Did it actually air on tv? Was she drunk?

I've seen that MADtv parody before, but it's just as funny the second time around. lol
Hong, Fausto and all the devil babies, you're out.

LMAO
