Project Runway Season Four

Bitten to Sell 'Project Runway' Dress

It's instant gratification for "Project Runway" fans: A version of Victorya Hong's winning dress from Wednesday's episode will be available for sale as early as Friday. The dress is being offered as part of Sarah Jessica Parker's Bitten line, sold at Steve & Barry's stores nationwide. The "Sex and the City" star was the week's guest judge on the Bravo reality show about fashion. The challenge put to the aspiring designer contestants was to create an outfit appropriate for Parker's casual sportswear collection, known for its cheap pricing compared with other celebrity clothing lines.
The Bitten interpretation of the dress will be offered in black or burgundy for $19.98, and the vest that goes with it will come in gray or black for $14.98. "I loved Victorya's design immediately when I saw it during my appearance on 'Project Runway,'" Parker said in a statement.
Hong's original dress will be on display at Steve & Barry's flagship Manhattan store for several weeks.

i wish the special guest had been karl lagerfeld. that would have been interesting :innocent:

i'm really starting to dislike christian :(
the only redeeming thing about him is when he took full responsibility for that horrible outfit instead of blaming it on carmen. i still wonder why tim likes him so much.

Well it's not beneath Karl to do a reality show. Remember that awful Tommy Hilfiger show "The Cut", yeah Karl was on that. Project Runway would actually be a step up.

I've gotta say, seeing them all in pictures, I really like Rami's look, much more than on tv. The whole thing is perfection.....I wonder why that wasn't in the top two.

Gosh, I almost forgot that Karl did that show...but you know, he did call PR "Trash that is funny for five minutes if you're with other people," so I'm not sure if he'll change his mind any time soon :ninja:

^ If that isn't the pot calling the kettle....The Cut was sooo bad. PR is actually entertaining.

I'm interested to see "The Bitten interpretation" of this week's winning dress. Its on sale soon. I'll try and dig up a photo.

i'm surprised jack and ricky's is the highest bid so far?

jenner, so victorya and kevin's dress will be released this friday (tomorrow)? i'm curious too if bitten kept the design close to the original.

Same here esile. I tried to find it online, but its not on the Bitten's collection website (yet anyways). Somebody run to Steve & Barrys and take a picture :p :)

i'm doing some shopping tomorrow. i'll stop in s&b and report back.

so, i went to s&b today. the dress isn't there yet. i asked an SA and she was clueless. she had no idea what i was talking about. i'll try again next friday.

I thought overall all the designs with the exception of the bottom two, were really good. I can't help but feel that while Elisa might have the creative energy, she's a very hard person to work with and that will cause problems for her later.

Although its about the Project Runway Season 2 winner, Heidi did wear the dress this season so i thought id post the info in this thread

Get Heidi Klum’s Gold Dress — By Chloe Dao!

Since the premiere of Project Runway last week, viewers have inundated Bravo with one question: Who designed host Heidi Klum’s gold dress that she wore during the episode’s runway show? The answer: Runway’s season two winner Chloe Dao! “I loved the dress,” says Klum, whose stylist asked Dao to send different designs. “I do like sparkly, and the gold color was perfect to stand out a bit for the premiere without being too much!” What did Dao think? “It was wonderful to see Heidi wearing it so beautifully. I love her looking hot and conservative at the same time.” The appropriately named Heidi dress — which costs $224 — is also available in fuchsia silk satin at Dao’s Houston boutique Lot 8 (713.807.1565).

I have a confession to make. I have never heard of Steve and Barry's. I suppose they just don't have one in my community. But we were in San Diego for Thanksgiving and there at the end of Horton Plaza, I saw the sign! "Kaitlin, look! It's Steve and Barry's!"

We still hadn't seen the episode and Kaitlin didn't want to be spoiled so she didn't even know about SJP. We entered and saw the big Project Runway poster and located Victorya's designs. They were well-displayed (although rather creased and wrinkled.) She preferred the dress in the burgundy fabric.

When Kaitlin came out of the dressing room, we discovered two other young women also trying on the same thing. It looked good on everyone!

kochie- thanks for posting. i guess, it just hasn't made it to all the stores yet. from the pics, it looks like they kept the dress very close to the original.

jenner- i had only recently heard of steve & barry last year when SJP came out with her bitten line. they sale very basic items for very affordable prices (most items are under $30). the quality is very average. i think their marriage with SJP was great marketing.

i only heard about steve & barry when i was reading about SJP's bitten line too

The dress was pretty cute...I may see if they have it at a Steve & Barry's around here...I used to get sports sweatshirts there...never paid attention to the clothes though...def. will check it out
