^^Well...I've always had a little bit of an issue with the time they give the designers to work. Especially with this challenge. Menswear is notoriously hard!...mainly because menswear is all about fit, and tailoring something perfectly is not the easiest task in the world. So, even with, what was it, about 20 hours total, it's not unrealistic that some of these designers couldn't finish everything. For one, none of them have had serious menswear construction training, so they had to draft patterns and make muslin mock-ups, which takes time. Plus, a nice pair of pants and a blazer/ jacket isn't as easy as one might think. And working on a dress form is also not easy since, what may look good and fitted on a dress form may not always fit right on an actual human, and that requires further attention on the designer's behalf.
So, when the judges ramble on about how the designer didn't manage their time very well, it's a little unfair to say that, since I seriously doubt that any of them were sitting around on their ***es for an entire day! I'd like to see Michael Kors whip out one of his tailored menswear suits by hand with no pattern in less than 20 hours!
