I definitely agree with what dior_couture said about the time constraints. They're tough for making a dress, but any sort of tailoring!?!? It's kind of crazy to expect perfection in that short an amount of time. I've made pants, women's not men's, and let's just say men's can only be more difficult.
I think too many of them were way too ambitious with making suits and shirts, absolute lunacy imo. Most of them looked good, but that is a huge risk given the time you have. That's why I agree with the judge's choice. It wasn't safe, it was smart. It looked flawless and despite Kit using fleece for a blazer, the overall look was very preppy and classic. Jack's pieces were very sophisticated looking.
As for the challenge, it was f**king lame. Tiki Barber? How many people in fashion know who Tiki Barber is? The designer's reaction said it all, complete indifference. I mean, couldn't they get Matt Lauer or someone like that. Plus, coming after SJP, it seemed terribly pathetic.
