Project Runway Season Four

I definitely agree with what dior_couture said about the time constraints. They're tough for making a dress, but any sort of tailoring!?!? It's kind of crazy to expect perfection in that short an amount of time. I've made pants, women's not men's, and let's just say men's can only be more difficult.

I think too many of them were way too ambitious with making suits and shirts, absolute lunacy imo. Most of them looked good, but that is a huge risk given the time you have. That's why I agree with the judge's choice. It wasn't safe, it was smart. It looked flawless and despite Kit using fleece for a blazer, the overall look was very preppy and classic. Jack's pieces were very sophisticated looking.

As for the challenge, it was f**king lame. Tiki Barber? How many people in fashion know who Tiki Barber is? The designer's reaction said it all, complete indifference. I mean, couldn't they get Matt Lauer or someone like that. Plus, coming after SJP, it seemed terribly pathetic.

This week was horrible! I felt sorry for Carmen. Most tried but didn't meet expectations. I agree Jack's design was very boring. I don't see the big fuss.

Tiki Barber??!?!! I mean come on! Project Runway deserves better than that!

:innocent:

to be honest i had no idea who he was either..

also, has anyone else noticed how kevin seems to reaffirm his heterosexuality at every chance he gets? i'm the only straight guy in the house, i'm not fussed about male models, blah blah blah.

^ I've noticed that as well, it makes others perceive him as uncomfortable around homosexuals, which might not be true. But its all in his appearance.

Did anyone think that Steven was HIGHlarious last night?

"Oh what was that thing before the Titanic sunk? Oh right, PANIC!!"

^^Steven is really funny, he's like a mellower and more sarcastic Andre (season 2)! I don't really remember anything he's designed so far, it's all been pretty forgettable...I hope that he'll be able to pull out something amazing in the next few challenges! The editors haven't been giving him much screen time so far.

basically, tiki picked the safe outfit. after all, he's the one that has to wear it.
i would've liked to see carmen stay, but that outfit was a wreck. also, is it just me... but when i saw jillian... i thought who is that?
oh my, christian is tiny! he's like a munchkin. did you see jack carrying him inside his bag? that's hilarious.

I'm interested in fashion and know of Tiki Barber... but that's just because he went to my sister's middle school, and would have gone to my high school if it had been around at the time... he and his brother are both big local heroes!

What did the dress sell for at Steve & Barry's? The only time I was ever in that store, was during a business trip to Scranton PA a couple years ago. Everything in the store was priced around $5-$10. I admire SJP for wanting to put out very affordable clothes, but that store is just such an odd choice.

^ I heard the dress is $19.98 and the vest is $14.98 but i don`t know for sure i think i may have mixed up some numbers

I hate the menswear challenges.
I really dont have much of an opinion on mens clothes
so judging ten outfits that to me are identical save shirt color sucks.

why is making menswear so much harder?
I dont get it.
I would think if you can make clothes
you can make clothes.

^ Well for starters, not many of the designers even have any experience in menswear, so that's a challenge right there. Men's tailoring is so hard because it's extremely precise, extremely labor intensive and any inperfections are right out there to see. There's so much pressing and internal structure involved, any of those designers who did a blazer would be forced to line it which takes time. Coats/tailored jackets are a nightmare to make, really.

But it's not so much that it's hard to do in and of itself, it's that it's hard to do in a 20 hour time span.

I'm a bit behind on episodes but I managed to check out the SJP one. She seems very knowledgeable about clothing. But lmao at Christian he was verging on indignant tears at what the judges were saying about his clothes. They were way too 80s. But then again look at some of the crap clothes that are passing for good designs these days anyway.

By the way, that men's outfit a page back; it looks like he used stole a cloth diaper from a baby, and wrapped it around his neck to hold his b*lls up, lol. That crossed w/ some 1950s French bandit from the country.

Couldn't agree more. Tiki Barber is such a downgrade compared to SJP.

OH MY GOD! I just watched the last episode again and realized one of the models ( derek ) is a friend of mine!! I haven't seen him in a few months but wow...what a fun surprise!

The weirdest part of the Tiki Barber challenge was when his wife came in...she seemed really scary!:ninja::lol: I think she was wearing Versace SS 07, though!

His wife didn't seem to have any personality.
