Project Runway Season Four

When I saw the Fashion Week photos I thought it would be Rami, but seeing the mini-runway show, I thought the three from Chris were really stunning.

Weirdly, I wasn't all that squicked by the human hair. How is that any less disgusting than hair extensions? Eyelash extensions? Wigs? All the expensive stuff is made from real human hair. I would much rather know that some nice woman got paid than say, that nasty illegal dog or cat fur! :p

*cough* Michael Kors *cough*

I just admire Jillian and Christian before 21 he worked with Westwood and McQueen..
Jillian's confidence is amazing..I like Chris alot..but I think Rami really knows how to make beautiful clothes but Christian has amazing talent

I really really loved Jillian's Jacket. And, in my opinion Chris deserve to win but Rami won because he is more commercial.

Ditto on both points - have always been rooting for Jillian and absolutely loved the workmanship on the jacket.

And I also have loved Rami more than Chris throughout the course of the season, but I truly and honestly believed Chris deserved to be put through to fashion week and was heartbroken that he wasn't. He truly has such a rare and unique outlook on things, and even if he does need to be toned down and told when to stop at times, it still would bring such an interesting perspective to the runways. I don't care about commerciality - I think Chris's designs were both avant garde and haute couture.

ITA 100%. I thought the human hair design was beyond clever. And, I honestly can see people wearing it especially in NYC. I don't think Chris is the better of the two designers but based on the looks Chris earned his way to Fashion week.

I agree, I think Rami is more talented in a commercial way. But based only on what went down the runway, Chris's three pieces were better.

That brings up the cumulative v. current judging question. I swear this changes from episode to episode. In this case, I think they considered Rami's work over the season as well as his potential. And are they looking for the next John Galliano or the next Donna Karan?

But really, is there anyone who thinks Christian isn't going to win? ^_^

I am pretty sure Chris is the winner. I think Heidi's favorite is Rami. But, Victoria really loved one designer and based on the looks on the Runway I am going to say that the designer is Chris. I think he is the one most likely to fight Victoria's style. He did a lot of skinny Jeans. Jillian's design are very commercial but not fashion week looks IMO. But, I loved loved that jacket so much that I was in tears because I know right now I can't afford it. LOL Cause I wanted it and if its in store that jacket would be mine.

I'm just catching up on this thread and I saw those scans from Elle posted a few pages. That's exciting to me that Marcia got in it too. I hung out and partied with her in NY last summer so I'm proud of her and and always watched her when she's on the show. How exciting! Yay for marcia!

Also too I'm a little confused about the fashion week thing because in the designers and collections thread, all five were there, but from the show Chris was out and Sweet P was out even before. So how did they get there? Did they do it on their own or what? Has that been cleared up already? Sorry if I missed it. :flower:

Marcia? Remind me who that is again? Sorry, my brain is filled with too many Fall/Winter collections.

All five collections were shown at NY Fashion Week because at the time there were still five competitors left on the show. So technically, two (Chris and Sweet P) were decoys.

But they still got to show, so they didn't really lose, right? And I read somewhere that Sweet P said they even got the same amount of money to work with.

I can't be the only one who thought the human hair was gross? I'd be on the verge of vomiting if I had to wear one of Chris' jackets

Christian and Chris working together last night was hilarious! Christian was so funny when asked to brush Chris' clothes...LMAO

Anyway I noticed Christian has a fit next week! All crying and stuff, anyone see why?

Marcia is the African-American model who wore the avant garde piece Chris and Christian designed, I believe ^_^

im with you! :yuk: to the human hair

Look, I thought it was weird too all I kept on thinking about is the poor Mongolian woman who had to sell hair for this out to see the light of day. But, I also though it was clever after seeing on the runway.

I am genuinely curious why some are so disgusted by this, yet have no problem wearing leather (the flesh of an animal), fur, and / or wear hair extensions.

the human hair looked a bit like fur on the one ensemble last night.

well for me I stay away from animal products especially fur. The human hair was an interesting choice, I just didnt think it made the clothes appealing

I don't wear leather, fur or wear hair extensions. But even if I did, I hate touching other peoples' hair after it has left their body. Would you want to reach into a shower drain and pick up a clump of someone's hair? If not, why in the world would you want to wear it on your body? I find it creepy :yuk::lol:

OMG, who cares about the human hair???? Designers use animal fur all the time... isn't it the same damn thing?
