US InStyle February 2020 : Olivia Wilde by Pamela Hanson

Yikes! This looks like it’s about to be a huge setback for InStyle, who’ve had a series of terrific covers of late.

‘badass women’....so we will dress her like a typical 50’s wife....the go to style for archaic anti feminism....

Also...the term ‘BadAss’ on a cover.....

And in that size...

What a shame this turned out to be an eyesore it promised to be. I don't mind Olivia Wilde, can't complain about the retro styling (with the exception of the tulle skirt shot) and actually like how the Christian Dior looks in the cover image but cannot fathom out how this went wrong.

this is very familiar to a photoshoot Reese Witherspoon made for InStyle back in 2015 by Giampaolo Sgura

I like Olivia but Jennifer Lawrence and Peter Lindbergh did it better.

Joan Crawford?

Please, Joan Crawford would never be seen in such dowdy styling nor would she get upstaged by a clothing rail.
This magazine is already on its last legs. Hence the pandering 'Badass Women' heading on an image of a woman styled in a suit of sorts. The entire cover just reeks of desperation.

Is she even promoting anything? She sort of fell off the Earth.

Her Richard Jewell movie which riled up journalists for portraying a now-decased newspaper reporter for having slept with sources, and then claiming all the push-back was misogynistic.

Just read the story on WP. What a role to promote. LOL. I would hang my head in shame.
And of course it's a Clint Eastwood movie.

You think so? I feel like I have never heard so much about her as during the last year. I never really knew who she was, until all the Booksmart press and the controversy round the new Clint Eastwood movie.

Very Hi!5 profile pic and a rather pretentious editorial.
